- Care Home
Aspen Lodge Residential Care Home is in Wolverhampton, and we provide residential care for older adults and for younger adults with a range of needs, including people living with dementia, people with mental health needs and people with a physical disability. We are a residential home rather than a large institution, and the day here is built around the people living in it. Some like an early start and a walk in the garden; others prefer a slow morning. Our job is to make both of those possible, and to give the right amount of help with washing, dressing, medication and mobility without taking over things somebody can still manage themselves. Dementia care is a significant part of our work. We spend time learning each person's history and habits so that we can recognise what lies behind a difficult moment and respond to the feeling rather than just the behaviour. For residents with mental health needs we work closely with the wider health teams involved, and we try to keep support steady and predictable, which is usually what helps most. We also take respite admissions, which can give a family carer a genuine break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to talk around that. We know which areas were identified and we are working through them, and we would rather tell you plainly and show you what has changed than avoid the subject when you visit.

- Care Home
Bethany House is a residential care home in Wolverhampton. We support older people and younger adults who need help with everyday life, including residents living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period or whose family carer needs a break. We try to run this as a house where people live rather than a place where care is administered. Residents tell us when they prefer to get up, what they like to eat, how much help they want with washing and dressing and how they want to spend the day, and the day is built from those answers rather than from a rota that suits us. Support with personal care, meals, medication and appointments is given quietly and with proper regard for privacy, and whatever someone can still do for themselves is protected. Dementia care runs through a great deal of what we do. We take time to learn a person's history, the people and places that matter to them and the rhythms that help them feel settled, because that knowledge is what allows us to reassure someone who is anxious rather than correct them. We keep the day predictable and explain changes in advance where we can. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We are regulated by them and are building the care planning, records and oversight that a good inspection outcome requires. Anyone considering us is welcome to visit.

Penn House Residential Home is in Wolverhampton, providing residential care for older people and for younger adults whose needs are best met in a home of this kind. Many of the people who live here are living with dementia. Our approach is built on patience and familiarity rather than activity for its own sake. The day has a shape without being run to a timetable, surroundings stay recognisable, and we avoid changing things without good reason. We spend time at the beginning learning about somebody's life, work, family and habits, and we ask relatives for the small details as well as the medical ones, because those are usually what helps most on a difficult afternoon. Life here belongs to the people living it. They choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how to spend the day. Care is given discreetly, with proper attention to privacy and dignity, and we support people to keep doing whatever they still can for themselves. Visitors are welcome whenever suits them, and we keep relatives informed rather than waiting to be asked. Respite stays are available as well, for family carers who need a planned break and for people needing support after illness or a spell in hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at homes in Wolverhampton, please come and see us.

Arbour Lodge is a residential care home in Wolverhampton, offering older people a settled and comfortable place to live with support always nearby. We try to keep the feel of a household, with days led by the people living them rather than by a timetable. We support residents living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability, and people who have sight or hearing loss. In each case the approach begins with knowing the person properly: their history, their habits, what settles them and what does not. Routines are kept familiar, changes explained in advance, and distress treated as something with a cause rather than as behaviour to be contained. Where somebody has a physical or sensory impairment, our aim is to remove the obstacle rather than narrow what they do. Our team helps with personal care, medication, mobility and meals, and equally with conversation, company, music and fresh air for those who want them. Relatives are welcome whenever they can come. Respite stays are available for people needing care for a short period. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good. Langdale and Keswick at Parkfields in Wolverhampton is a residential care home supporting older people and younger adults. Our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss, and we also offer respite stays. Supporting that range means building round individuals rather than running one routine. We spend time with a person, and whoever they want involved, learning how they like their days to go, what they manage themselves and where help is genuinely wanted, and that is what we work to afterwards. Help with personal care, mobility, medication and health appointments is recorded in detail so it happens the same way whoever is on duty. We need to be straight about our standing. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We accepted what was found rather than contesting it. Since then we have put more into staffing and supervision, tightened our systems for medicines and record keeping, and increased how closely senior staff check the care actually delivered rather than the care written down. The work is ongoing. We would rather tell families this ourselves and answer their questions openly than have them learn it elsewhere. Anybody considering the home is welcome to visit, see how we are now, and ask us anything at all, including the uncomfortable questions.

Newbridge House is a residential care home in Wolverhampton. We support older people and adults with a learning disability, adults who are autistic and people with a physical disability, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite stays. Because the people who live here have different needs and very different lives, support is planned individually rather than around a house routine. People choose their own food, keep their own habits, have a say in what happens here, and are supported to get out locally and keep up with family and friends. Our team is expected to learn how each person communicates, including those who do not use speech, and to notice when somebody is uncomfortable, bored or in pain. Where a resident becomes distressed, we work on the basis that there is a reason for it and that finding the reason is part of our job. Practical care with washing, dressing, medication and mobility is given discreetly and in the way the person prefers, and we check that we have it right rather than assuming. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to look round or discuss a placement or respite stay, please get in touch and we will arrange a time to suit you.

The Leylands provides residential care in Wolverhampton for older people and younger adults. We support people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autism, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people who have sight or hearing loss, and we also support people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug misuse. Planned respite stays are available. Our work is practical and daily, covering personal care, medicines, meals, the running of a household, and support to get out to the activities, work or education that matter to people. Where somebody communicates differently or needs the day to be predictable, we work to that. We ought to be straightforward about our inspection position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We are not going to argue with the findings. They described real shortfalls, and our manager and staff team have been working through them, with tighter medicines practice, clearer records, more training and supervision, and regular internal checks so that problems come to light quickly. That work is not finished. If you are considering us for somebody, please come and look round, ask exactly what has changed since the inspection, and speak to residents and relatives while you are here.

Here at Coton House, we provide residential care for older people in the heart of Wolverhampton, and we take genuine pride in the community we have built within our home. We support residents living with dementia, those who need longer term residential care, and people who require a shorter respite stay, whether to recover after a hospital admission or to give a family carer some time to rest. Whatever brings someone to us, we work hard to make sure they feel at home from the moment they arrive. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. Our team takes time to get to know each resident as an individual, understanding their routines, their preferences, and the things that matter most to them day to day. Good care, in our view, comes from that kind of attention rather than from following a script. We want to be open about where we are as a home. Our most recent CQC inspection resulted in a requires improvement rating, and we have taken that seriously. We have been working through the feedback with focus and honesty, making changes to how we operate and how we support our staff, because we believe our residents deserve a home that is continually getting better. We are committed to demonstrating that improvement in a way that is visible to residents, families, and inspectors alike. If you are considering Coton House for yourself or someone you love, we would warmly welcome you to come and visit us, have a look around, and ask us anything you would like to know. We would rather have an honest conversation than offer you a polished brochure.

Charnwood is a residential care home in Wolverhampton supporting older people, including many living with dementia, and we welcome respite guests. We run the home as a household rather than a facility. Mornings are flexible, meals are proper meals, and residents decide how they spend their days, with company when they want it and quiet when they do not. Staff take trouble to learn residents' histories, their families and working lives and what they still care about, because you cannot look after somebody well if you only know them as a set of needs. Dementia care is a large part of what we do. We keep routines familiar, the building calm and the staffing as consistent as we can manage, and we follow the person rather than correcting them, since correcting someone rarely helps and often distresses them. When a resident is unsettled we look for the reason behind it, whether that is pain, noise, tiredness, hunger or a need nobody has understood yet. Relatives usually know what has always helped, and we ask them rather than guessing. Respite stays give family carers a proper break, and the person staying receives exactly what a permanent resident receives. If you are looking at homes in Wolverhampton, please arrange a visit and come and see an ordinary day here for yourself.

Here at East Park Court Residential Care Home, we are proud to offer a warm and welcoming environment for the people who live with us in the heart of Wolverhampton. Our home supports a wide range of individuals, including older adults, people living with dementia, younger adults, and those with learning disabilities or autism. We also offer respite care for those who need short term support or whose families need a little breathing space. We understand that moving into a care home, or choosing one for someone you love, is a significant decision. That is why we take the time to get to know each person as an individual, understanding what matters to them, what their routines look like, and how we can make their life here feel genuinely like home. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and we work hard to make sure that comes through in everything we do day to day. Our team brings a real mix of experience and compassion to their roles, and we invest in ongoing training so that the care we provide remains thoughtful and well informed, particularly when it comes to areas like dementia support and working with people with learning disabilities or autism. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as good, which reflects the effort our whole team puts in to maintaining high standards. But we also know there is always more we can do, and we continue to listen to the people who live here, their families, and our staff to keep improving. If you would like to find out more about life at East Park Court, or to arrange a visit, we would be very happy to hear from you.

In practice, this means listening carefully to residents and their families, building care plans around genuine preferences, and ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and respected. Meals, activities, and daily rhythms are shaped by the people who live here, and we welcome relatives as partners in care. We recognise that our most recent Care Quality Commission overall rating is Requires Improvement, and we take this feedback seriously. The CQC found our home to be Good in the areas of Effective, Caring, and Responsive care, which reflects the warmth of our team and the thoughtful, personalised support we offer every day. In the domains of Safe and Well led, we were rated Requires Improvement, and we are committed to strengthening these areas through ongoing review, staff development, and open dialogue with residents, families, and regulators. Transparency matters to us, and we believe families deserve honest information as they make one of the most important decisions of their lives. Choosing a care home is rarely easy, and we understand the weight of that responsibility. If you are considering care for someone dear to you, we warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and learn more about life at Aldergrove Manor Care Home. We are Mountfield House, a residential care home in Wolverhampton. We care for older people, including people living with dementia, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment. What we provide is residential care rather than nursing care, and we are straightforward with families about the difference so that nobody moves in somewhere unable to meet their needs. Within it, we help with washing, dressing and getting about safely, support people with medication, provide proper meals and make sure nobody is left alone all day unless that is what they prefer. The home is run around the people living in it. Nobody is woken to suit a rota, mealtimes bend around the person, and how somebody spends the day is their own business. Dementia care here rests on knowing the individual. We learn about the work somebody did, the family they raised and the routines that steady them, and we use that rather than correcting anybody about the present. Where a person has a visual or hearing impairment, we make sure every member of staff knows how they prefer to be approached. We keep families in the picture, ring early when concerned, and welcome visitors whenever they want to come. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to look round.

Engelberg Care Home is a residential care home in Wolverhampton providing care for older people, including people living with dementia, along with shorter respite stays. We run the home at the pace of the people in it. Breakfast happens when somebody wakes rather than when a trolley comes round, and the day takes the shape a person wants. The care covers help with washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, support with mobility, and somebody always around when a person needs them. For those living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the faces familiar, and we arrange the house so that it is easy to understand and to move about in. Our staff tend to stay with us for a long time, and that continuity does more to settle somebody than any particular method could. Wolverhampton is home for most of the people living here, and we keep those threads going with trips out, visitors from local groups, and family welcome whenever they wish to come. Respite can cover a family holiday or a period of recovery after illness. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to look round.

Ashley Court is a residential care home in Wolverhampton. We are home to older people and to some younger adults, we have particular experience in supporting people who live with dementia, and we offer respite stays for those who need care for a short period or whose regular carer needs a break. We aim for the feel of a household rather than a hospital. People rise when they wake, choose where to spend their day, and keep the habits and preferences they have had for years. When somebody moves in, we spend time with them and their family learning about their working life, their family, the food they like and the things that reassure them. That knowledge is what allows staff to offer care that fits the person rather than the diagnosis. For residents living with dementia, we keep routines steady and familiar, and we make sure that the same staff work with the same people as far as our rotas allow. Confusion and frustration are much easier to manage when the face in front of you is one you know. Practically, we help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and moving about safely, and we call on GPs, district nurses and other health professionals whenever they are needed. Families are welcome at Ashley Court and we would much rather they visited often and told us honestly how they think their relative is getting on. If you are considering a home in Wolverhampton, please arrange a visit and see the place for yourself.

Supporting such a mixed group of residents well means knowing each of them properly, so we plan support one person at a time rather than running the house on a single timetable. We help with personal care, meals, medication and appointments, and we support people to keep up the interests, work, study and friendships that make a week feel like their own. Where someone manages something themselves, we protect that and stay nearby rather than taking over. Dementia care asks for familiarity and reassurance rather than correction. For residents with a learning disability or autistic residents, communication and routine come first, and we write plans in a form the person can actually use. For residents with sensory loss we adapt how we communicate and how shared spaces are arranged. Families are welcome whenever they wish to visit. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we judge ourselves on whether life here actually feels like home.

- Care Home
Newcross Care Home in Wolverhampton offers residential care to older people and younger adults, including residents living with dementia and residents with a physical disability. Our aim is that people who move in find it becomes home reasonably quickly, and that families feel able to relax about the decision they have made. We pay attention to the practical things that shape a day. Getting up when you want to. Food you look forward to, cooked so that it arrives hot and looks worth eating. Help with washing and dressing given calmly and with dignity. Enough support to move about safely without being hemmed in. Dementia care is a large part of our work. We keep the rhythm of the day predictable, we give people time, and we spend real effort learning who someone has been. That history is usually what helps us reach a person who is distressed, and it makes ordinary conversations better too. Visitors are welcome and we do not treat visiting as an interruption. If you want to come and share a meal, join in with an activity, or take your relative out for the afternoon, that is exactly as it should be. We also provide respite care for shorter stays. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we would be pleased to show you round.

We are Woodfields Residential Home in Wolverhampton, caring for older people, including many who are living with dementia. We provide residential care rather than nursing care, and we are straightforward with families about that distinction so that nobody moves in somewhere unable to meet their needs. Within it, we help with washing, dressing and getting about safely, support people with medication, provide proper meals and make sure nobody is left alone all day unless that is what they prefer. We have tried to keep the feel of a house. People bring their own furniture and pictures, come down when they wake rather than when a rota says so, and spend the day as they please. Some like the sitting room and the conversation, others would rather have their own room with the television on. Dementia care takes patience and it takes knowing the person. We learn about the work somebody did, the family they raised and the routines that steady them, and we use that rather than correcting anybody about the present. Our staff know residents well enough to notice when somebody is quieter or off their food, and we ring families early rather than waiting. Visitors are welcome whenever they want to come. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Please get in touch if you would like to look round.

Here at Hilton House, we are a care home based in Wolverhampton, providing residential support to a wide range of people who need a safe, comfortable and genuinely caring place to call home. We support older people, individuals living with dementia, those with learning disabilities or autism, people with mental health needs, physical disabilities and visual or hearing impairments. We also offer respite care for those who need a short stay, whether to recover, take a break, or give family carers some time to rest. We believe that whatever brings someone through our door, they deserve to feel settled, respected and well looked after. Our team works hard to get to know each person as an individual. We take time to understand peoples histories, preferences and routines, because good care is not one size fits all. Whether someone needs a great deal of support throughout the day or simply a reassuring presence nearby, we try to shape our approach around what matters most to them. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in a rating of good across the board. That recognition means a great deal to us, though we see it as a reflection of the everyday effort our staff put in rather than something to rest on. We are always looking at how we can do things better. Hilton House is very much part of the Wolverhampton community, and we value the relationships we have built with residents, their families and those who refer people to us. If you are thinking about care for yourself or someone close to you, we warmly encourage you to get in touch or come and visit so you can see for yourself what life here is like.

The Croft Residential Home is a care home in Wolverhampton, providing residential care for older people, including people living with dementia. We also offer respite stays. We run the home the way a household runs. People get up when they wake, sit where they choose, eat what they enjoy and keep the habits of a lifetime. Help with washing, dressing, medication and getting about is given when it is needed, quietly and without anybody feeling they have been taken over. Good dementia care depends on knowing the person rather than on any particular technique. Our team learns each resident's history, their family and their working life, and uses it every day. When somebody is anxious there is usually a reason, and looking for the reason is more useful than smoothing it over. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of that, although the things we are proudest of are smaller and harder to inspect: a resident who has settled after a difficult few weeks, a family who can finally rest, and a team who choose to stay with us year after year. If you are looking at residential care in Wolverhampton, please arrange to come in, meet the team and see the home on an ordinary afternoon.

Meadowcroft Residential Care Home is in Wolverhampton, providing residential care for older people who can no longer manage safely on their own, and supporting younger adults who need residential care. We aim for the feel of a household rather than an institution, with people keeping their own routines, their own belongings and a genuine say in how their day goes. We support people living with dementia, and that work depends on continuity above all. Knowing what somebody's day used to look like and keeping as much of it as we can matters more than any amount of written planning. Respite stays are available too, for people who need care for a short period and for family carers who need a break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather say that plainly than talk around it. We have worked through the findings and our attention has gone to the things that shape daily life here rather than to records alone. - Care Home
We are a residential care home in Wolverhampton with Quaker roots, providing a home for older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia. Our approach owes something to where we come from. We try to treat the people who live here as equals rather than as recipients, to listen more than we talk, and to leave room for quiet. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines as far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be part of whatever is happening in the house. People of any faith or none are equally welcome here. Dementia care, in our experience, rests on knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is anxious or cannot place where they are. Meals are cooked here and we pay attention when somebody would rather have something different. Family and friends are welcome whenever they would like to come, and we would always rather a concern was raised early than saved up. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and see the home for yourself before deciding anything.

Our setting in the WV area of Wolverhampton offers a comfortable environment where residents can feel settled and secure. We have created spaces that encourage both quiet reflection and sociable moments, allowing residents to enjoy their days in ways that suit them best. Care at Coton Grange is shaped around each individual. Whilst our focus is on older person and residential care, we also welcome those living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. This breadth of experience means our team is well equipped to understand the varied and sometimes complex needs of the people who live with us. In practice, this looks like patient support with daily routines, gentle encouragement to take part in activities, and a genuine respect for each person's preferences, history, and personality. Families can feel reassured knowing that their relative is understood as a whole person, not simply defined by a diagnosis. We also offer respite care, providing valuable short stays for those who need a temporary place to recover, rest, or simply enjoy a change of environment. Respite is often a lifeline for family carers too, offering peace of mind that their loved one is being looked after with kindness whilst they take time to recharge. Our approach is always flexible and compassionate, whether someone is joining us for a few weeks or making Coton Grange their long term home. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission, where we were awarded an overall rating of Good. This rating extends across every domain assessed, with Good ratings for being safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led. For families, this consistency offers meaningful reassurance that the standards of care, leadership, and day to day life at our home have been independently reviewed and found to be strong across the board. It reflects the pride our team takes in doing things properly and always with the resident's wellbeing at heart. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the emotions that come with it. If you are considering care for a loved one in Wolverhampton or the wider West Midlands, we warmly invite you to get in touch with us at Coton Grange. We would be delighted to answer your questions, share more about our home, and help you feel confident that your family member will be truly cared for here.

Highcroft Hall Residential Care Home provides residential care in Wolverhampton for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia. We also take planned respite stays. Most of what makes a care home work is undramatic and daily. Getting up when you want to, food you actually want to eat, a familiar face on shift, and somebody noticing when you are quieter than usual. That is where we concentrate our effort. For residents living with dementia, familiarity and a calm unhurried approach prevent far more distress than they ever cost, so we keep the day recognisable and let people do things at the pace they can manage. We would rather be plain about our inspection position than leave families to discover it elsewhere. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We are not going to argue with the findings. They described genuine shortfalls, and our manager and staff team have been working through them, with tighter medicines practice, clearer record keeping, more training and supervision, and regular internal checks so that problems surface quickly rather than quietly. There is more to do and we will not pretend otherwise. If you are thinking about Highcroft Hall for somebody you love, please come and see us, ask what has actually changed since the inspection, and speak to residents and relatives while you are here.

Knoll House is a residential care home in Wolverhampton. The people living here include older people, many of them living with dementia, along with younger adults, people with a learning disability or autism, people with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss, people managing mental health conditions and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs. We also offer respite stays. That is a varied group, so we plan support with each person rather than running the house to a single pattern. People keep their own rooms, their own belongings and their own routines, and they decide how much of the day to spend in company and how much on their own. We ask about the small preferences in detail and expect our staff to follow them, because those details are most of what makes a place feel like home. For residents living with dementia, consistency helps more than anything. Familiar staff, routines that change only when there is a reason, and the patience to understand what somebody means when words have become unreliable. We also work closely with health, mental health and social work colleagues, since joined up support tends to be the support that holds. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We take it as evidence that the everyday work is being done properly and we keep looking at the detail. If you are considering a care home in Wolverhampton for someone close to you, you are welcome to visit, meet our staff and residents and ask us anything.

We at Wentworth Lodge Residential Care Home offer a warm and welcoming residential care setting in Wolverhampton, where compassion, dignity, and person centred support sit at the heart of everything we do. Our home provides residential care, specialist dementia care, and respite care for older people across Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands. Nestled within the WV postcode area, our home enjoys a familiar local setting that allows residents to remain close to the community, family, and friends they know best. The surroundings offer a comfortable base where residents can settle into daily life at their own pace, whether they are joining us for long term care or a shorter respite stay. We aim to create an environment that feels less like an institution and more like home, with communal areas for socialising alongside quieter spaces for reflection, reading, or private time with loved ones. Our specialisms shape the everyday experience of those in our care. For residents living with dementia, we understand that consistency, gentle routine, and genuine understanding make an enormous difference. Our team takes time to learn each person's history, preferences, and the small details that bring comfort, from a favourite morning drink to a well loved piece of music. Families often tell us how much peace of mind this brings, knowing their relative is truly known as an individual rather than simply looked after. Residential care at Wentworth Lodge is built around supporting independence whilst providing the reassurance of assistance whenever it is needed. Whether that involves help with personal care, medication support, or simply a friendly companion during the day, our approach is respectful and unhurried. We recognise that moving into a care home is a significant life change, and we work closely with new residents and their families to make the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible. Our respite care option offers valuable support for families and carers who need a short break, or for individuals recovering from illness or a hospital stay. Respite stays give guests the chance to enjoy the full benefits of life at Wentworth Lodge for a limited period, with the same warmth and attention offered to permanent residents. Many families find this arrangement invaluable, whether planned in advance or arranged during a period of unexpected need. Quality and safety are commitments we take seriously. Wentworth Lodge Residential Care Home holds an overall rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission following its inspection in September 2022, with Good ratings achieved across all five key areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led. This independent recognition reflects the standards we strive to maintain every day, from the safety of our environment to the effectiveness of the care delivered, the compassion of our team, our responsiveness to individual needs, and the leadership that underpins the home. For families weighing up options, this consistent Good rating offers meaningful reassurance that our home meets the expectations set out by the national regulator. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the emotions that come with it. We warmly invite families in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas to get in touch, ask questions, and arrange a visit to see our home for themselves. Meeting the team, walking through the communal areas, and getting a feel for daily life is often the best way to know whether Wentworth Lodge is the right fit for your loved one. Whatever stage you are at in your search, we are here to listen, guide, and offer the reassurance that thoughtful, compassionate care is always within reach.

Greenway House Residential Home is a care home near Wolverhampton. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays. We try to run a household rather than an institution. Residents bring their own furniture and photographs, keep the routines they have always kept and decide for themselves how much they want to be part of what is going on. Nobody is walked to an activity they have not chosen. When somebody joins us we take time over their history and preferences, and we record it so that every member of staff knows it rather than only whoever did the assessment. Dementia support rests on familiarity and pace, so we keep staffing as consistent as we can, avoid unnecessary change and work out what settles a particular resident. Where sight or hearing is failing we pay attention to lighting, contrast, signage and equipment, and we check that glasses and hearing aids are actually being used and maintained. For residents with physical disabilities we look at how the building is arranged so that independence is protected where it can be. Supporting mental health needs means consistency and working alongside community teams rather than separately from them. Meals are cooked here and residents have a say in the menu. Visitors are welcome through the day. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see the home for yourself.

- Care Home
Abbey Lodge Care is a residential care home in Wolverhampton, supporting older people and younger adults, including many people living with dementia. Moving into a care home is rarely a cheerful decision. It usually follows a fall, a hospital stay, a bereavement or a long slow stretch where managing at home stopped being realistic. We try to take that seriously. The first few weeks matter more than any brochure, so we go slowly, we learn how someone likes their day arranged, and we accept that a person may be grieving for their own house while they settle into ours. After that, our aim is unremarkable in the best sense: good food, warm rooms, help given when it is wanted and withheld when it is not, and enough going on that the day has some shape. People keep their own routines where they can. If somebody wants a bath at night rather than a shower in the morning, that is easily arranged and we are suspicious of any home that says otherwise. With dementia we work on familiarity rather than correction. Calm surroundings, consistent staff and a bit of imagination go a long way, and relatives often hold the detail that unlocks it. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. The best way to size us up is to turn up, have a cup of tea and talk to the people who live here.

Springfield House Residential Home is a care home in Wolverhampton, on the Staffordshire border. We look after older people, including many living with dementia, and adults with physical disabilities, and we take respite bookings for people who need a stay of a few weeks. We try to keep this a home rather than a facility. Rooms belong to the people in them, complete with their own furniture and photographs. Meals are meant to be enjoyed. The day has a shape without becoming a timetable, and nobody is pushed into joining anything, though there is usually something worth joining. With dementia, steadiness does most of the good. Familiar faces, a predictable routine, calm surroundings and time given rather than rushed. We learn about somebody's earlier life so that conversation has somewhere to go. Where a person with a physical disability wants to keep doing things for themselves, we make sure equipment and layout support that rather than getting in the way, because independence lost to well meaning haste is hard to recover. Our staff know the people here, which is how changes in health get picked up early and taken to the GP or district nurse promptly. Families are welcome whenever suits them and are involved in reviews and decisions. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please ring if you would like to look round.

At Bridge Manor, we provide residential care for a wide range of people from our home here in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire. We support older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether that is to give a family carer a break or to support someone through a period of recovery or change. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a person and their family will ever make. We do not take that lightly. From the moment someone contacts us, we aim to be straightforward, honest, and genuinely helpful, giving people the information they need to make the right choice for their situation. Life at Bridge Manor is built around the people who live here. We take time to get to know each resident properly, understanding their history, their preferences, and what matters most to them day to day. That knowledge shapes how we support people, because good care is never one size fits all. Our team works hard to create an environment that feels like a real home rather than an institution. We want residents to feel comfortable, respected, and at ease, whether they are joining us for a short stay or making Bridge Manor their long term home. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and are committed to providing care that meets a high standard, being open to feedback and always looking at how we can do things better. If you would like to find out more about what we offer, or if you simply want to come and have a look around, please do get in touch. We are always happy to have that conversation.

- Care Home
We are The Old Rectory Care Home, a residential care home in Wolverhampton supporting older people who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia. We think of this as somebody's home rather than as a facility, and that shapes small decisions as much as large ones, from how people are greeted in the morning to whether they have a real say in what is on the menu. Everyone here keeps their own room, their own belongings and as much of their own routine as they wish. Some enjoy company and the busier parts of the day, others prefer their own space and quiet, and neither choice needs explaining. Help with washing, dressing, medication and getting about is given at the person's pace, because being supported should not mean being hurried. For those living with dementia we pay close attention to familiar objects, familiar faces and a steady rhythm, and we take time to learn about somebody's work, family and interests so that reassurance rests on something real. We also provide respite stays, which give a family carer a planned break or help somebody rebuild confidence after illness before going home. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us outstanding overall. We are proud of that, though what it really reflects is the ordinary consistency of the team here rather than anything dramatic, and a rating has to be earned again every day. Relatives and friends are welcome, and we would encourage anyone considering us to visit.

Arranging and funding a dementia care home place in Wolverhampton
All 36 providers gathered on this page are registered as residential care homes, which means personal care, supervision and support with daily living rather than nursing delivered on the premises. Because the registration is the same across the group, the differences worth your attention sit in the dementia practice itself: how staff are trained, how the building is arranged, and how a difficult afternoon is handled.
Reading the inspection picture across the area
The published record here is genuinely mixed, which is what makes comparison worthwhile. Two homes hold an Outstanding rating, The Croft Residential Home and The Old Rectory Care Home, and twenty one more are rated Good. Nine have been told they require improvement and one has been rated Inadequate, so a rating is always worth checking rather than assuming. Two providers, among them Bridge Manor, have not yet been rated, which commonly reflects a recent registration rather than any finding, and is better treated as an open question than as a warning.
Questions that reveal the quality of dementia support
Ask how many staff on each shift have completed dementia training and whether one person leads that practice, because a named lead usually signals that the approach is reviewed rather than assumed. Ask what happens when a resident becomes distressed in the evening, and listen for an answer about knowing the person rather than about medication. Look at whether corridors, bathrooms and bedroom doors are easy to tell apart, whether residents can walk about safely without being constantly redirected, and whether there is somewhere outdoors they can reach on their own. Homes such as Waterside House or Penn House Residential Home will each answer those questions in their own way, and the answers tell you more than any brochure.
Choosing between dementia care homes in Wolverhampton
Starting with a care needs assessment
A move into residential dementia care normally begins with a care needs assessment, which anyone can request for themselves or on behalf of a relative. The assessment considers what the person can still manage, where help is needed and what risk they face living as they are now, and it produces a written outcome you can take to any of the homes listed here. The Wolverhampton City Council social care team is responsible for carrying out that assessment and for the separate financial assessment that follows it. Asking for both early is sensible, because the paperwork often takes longer than the decision about which home feels right.
Who pays, and what to check before signing
Funding follows the financial assessment rather than the care needs assessment, and in practice the two run alongside each other. Where capital and income fall below the national threshold the council contributes towards the fees at the rate it sets for such a placement; above that threshold the care is funded privately, though an assessment is still worth having for the advice alone. Fees differ between the homes on this page according to the room, its position in the building and the level of support involved, so ask each one for a written schedule showing what is included and what is charged separately. Check the position on third party top up payments, on annual fee reviews and on what happens during a spell in hospital, and get those answers in writing before anyone commits.
Narrowing the list without rushing it
Shortlist three or four homes, visit each unannounced around a mealtime, and read the most recent inspection report in full before you compare them. The report records what inspectors actually saw rather than what a home would prefer to present, and a provider working steadily up from a lower rating can sometimes be a better prospect than one coasting on an older grade.
Frequently asked questions about dementia care homes in Wolverhampton
How many dementia care homes are there in Wolverhampton?
Wolverhampton has 36 CQC registered care homes that are registered for dementia care, out of 60 CQC registered care homes in Wolverhampton: 2 Outstanding, 21 Good, 9 Requires improvement, 1 Inadequate, 3 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.
Which dementia care homes in Wolverhampton were inspected most recently?
Coton Grange (21 May 2026), Welbeck House (18 May 2026) and Hilton House (25 March 2026) have the most recent CQC reports.
Which providers offer dementia care in Wolverhampton?
36 residential care homes registered to support people living with dementia cover Wolverhampton, and all of them are listed on this page. They include two Outstanding rated homes, The Croft Residential Home and The Old Rectory Care Home, alongside twenty one homes rated Good. The remainder are either rated as requiring improvement, rated Inadequate, or not yet rated by the Care Quality Commission. Each profile links through to the published inspection report so you can weigh the evidence behind the grade.
What is the difference between a dementia care home and a dementia nursing home?
A dementia care home provides personal care, supervision and help with daily living, with district nurses and general practitioners visiting when they are needed. A dementia nursing home keeps registered nurses on duty around the clock, which suits someone with continuing clinical needs such as complex medication, wound care or feeding support. Every provider listed on this page is registered as a residential care home rather than a nursing home. If an assessment points towards nursing needs, the search should widen to nursing registered homes instead.
What should I ask when visiting a dementia care home in Wolverhampton?
Ask how many staff on each shift have completed dementia training and whether a named person leads that practice. Ask how the home supports someone who becomes distressed or restless, and whether relatives are involved in writing and reviewing the care plan. Ask about staff turnover, about what actually happens on an ordinary weekday afternoon, and about how food and drink are offered to someone who no longer asks. Finally, ask to see the most recent inspection report and what has changed since it was published.
How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Wolverhampton?
Contact Wolverhampton City Council adult social care and request an assessment, either for yourself or for a relative with their agreement. The assessment is free and is not means tested, and it looks at what the person can manage alone and where support is required. A financial assessment usually follows in order to establish who pays for any care that is arranged. Keep a copy of the written outcome, because the homes on this page will want to know what the assessment concluded.
Can Wolverhampton City Council fund a dementia care home placement?
It can, where a care needs assessment confirms that residential care is appropriate and a financial assessment shows capital and income below the national threshold. The council then contributes towards the fees at the rate it sets for that kind of placement. If a family prefers a home costing more than the council will pay, a third party top up payment may be needed, and that arrangement should be documented before the move. Anyone paying privately can still request an assessment, which is usually worth doing for the guidance alone.
How far in advance should we start looking at dementia care homes?
Earlier than most families expect, because the care needs assessment, the financial assessment and a waiting list can each add weeks. Starting while the current arrangement is still holding gives you time to visit more than once and to involve the person who is moving in the decision. Where a hospital discharge is driving the timing, say so when you contact the council, since discharge cases are handled on a shorter timescale. Even in an urgent situation, reading the latest inspection report before agreeing to a placement is time well spent.
