About The Laurels
The Laurels is a residential care home in Lincoln supporting older people, adults with mental health needs, residents with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss, including some younger adults. We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and whatever else has become difficult, and we leave people in charge of the rest. Residents decide when they get up and go to bed, where they spend the day, what they eat and whether they want company or a quiet afternoon on their own. For residents with mental health needs, stability, a calm household and staff who know a person well enough to notice when something has changed do most of the good, and we work with local services and doctors. Where somebody has a physical disability the right equipment is in place and staff are trained to help with moving safely and comfortably. For residents with sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate, say who we are as we come into a room and do not move things without saying so. Meals are cooked here and we ask people what they actually want to eat. Respite stays are available, which can give a family carer a break or support somebody through a short period of difficulty. Please ring us if you would like to look round.
