About Bernadette House
Bernadette House is a residential care home in Lincoln. We support older people, including those living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Younger adults whose needs are best met in a residential setting are welcome too, and we offer respite stays. A good day here looks unremarkable from the outside. Somebody gets up at the hour that suits them and is helped to wash and dress the way they have always done it. Breakfast is something they wanted. There is a newspaper, or the radio, or a conversation, depending on the person. Somebody notices that Mrs So and So is quieter than usual and sits down with her rather than walking past. For people living with dementia, we keep the constants steady and follow the person's pace. Familiar faces, a predictable shape to the day, and staff who do not correct or hurry. For people with a physical disability or with sight or hearing loss, the practical detail is what counts, from equipment that fits properly to belongings staying exactly where they were left. Respite stays give a family carer a planned break with proper support in place for the person staying. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit us on an ordinary day.
