About Swallow Lodge
Swallow Lodge is a residential care home in Lincoln. We support older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also take respite bookings. Having that range of people under one roof means we cannot run the home to a single pattern, and we do not try to. Some residents need a good deal of hands on support through the day. Others mainly want a settled base, a bit of structure and someone reliable to check in with. We work out which is which by asking, and we keep asking, because what somebody needs on arrival is rarely what they need a year later. People keep their own belongings around them, choose how the day goes and are not hurried through the parts that take longer than they once did. Families are welcome throughout the day and we would rather they came often and informally than waited for an invitation. Where somebody has restricted sight or hearing, small adjustments make a large difference, and we pay attention to those details rather than treating them as someone else's job. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are considering residential or respite care in Lincoln, please arrange to visit us.
