About Kirk House
We are a residential care home in Lincoln, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism. We also offer respite stays where a short break is what is needed rather than a permanent move. What we run is a house where people live their own lives with the support they need, not a place that organises those lives for them. That means paying close attention to how each person communicates, what they need from their surroundings, what turns a manageable day into a hard one and what helps when that happens. It also means handling change carefully, with notice and explanation, because a week that keeps its shape is what makes coping possible for some of the people here. Where somebody can do something for themselves, even slowly, we would much rather they did. We should be open about the regulator rather than leave you to find out afterwards. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are working through the points raised with us, and if you are a family member or a professional considering a placement or a short break here, please ask about it directly. We will tell you what has changed and what is still in hand. We work closely with families and with the professionals involved, because they usually understand a person better than any assessment does. Please get in touch if you would like to talk.
