About Bramhall
Bramhall is a residential care home in Lincoln for older people, including those living with dementia. We are not a nursing home, and what we do well is personal care, a settled daily rhythm and knowing the people who live here as individuals rather than as a set of needs. We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and anything else that has become difficult, at the pace of the person rather than the pace of a rota. Residents choose when they get up and go to bed, where they spend the day, what they eat and whether they want company or their own quiet room. For residents living with dementia we keep the surroundings familiar and the staff consistent, explain what is happening as we go and try to understand what is behind a change in mood instead of treating it as a symptom. Families usually know a person far better than any assessment does, and what they tell us shapes how we work. Mealtimes are important here. Food is cooked on the premises, we ask people what they actually fancy and nobody is hurried through a plate. Respite stays are available, which can give a family carer a break or let somebody build strength back up after illness. You are welcome to visit, look round properly and ask us whatever you want to know.
