    • Care Home

We are Regency Court, a residential care home in Keighley, in the Bradford district. We support older people, including those living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, and people managing a mental health condition, and we offer respite stays. With that mix of needs under one roof, support has to be planned individually rather than run to a single routine. We take time at the start to learn how a person communicates, what they can manage themselves, where they want help and what they would rather nobody did for them, and we revisit it as things change. Consistency does most of the work. Familiar staff, a routine somebody can rely on, information given in a form they can genuinely use, and people who do not take a bad day personally. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather set that out plainly than leave a family to find it elsewhere. We know what the inspection identified, work is in hand on it, and we are willing to go through the detail with anyone considering a place here.

    • Care Home

At Manor Park Care Home we offer residential care in Keighley for older people and for younger adults who need support, including people living with dementia and people managing mental health conditions. We also take respite bookings, which often gives a family carer the breathing space they need. We think of ourselves as a household rather than an institution. People keep their own routines, bring their own furniture and photographs, and decide how much they want to join in. Our staff get to know what settles someone and what unsettles them, and we write that down so that care does not depend on who happens to be on shift. Supporting people with mental health needs well means being patient and consistent. We work alongside community teams, GPs and families, and we are careful not to change someone's support without talking it through with them first. For residents living with dementia we keep the day predictable and the atmosphere calm. Keighley is on our doorstep, so trips out, visits from family and links with local groups are easy to arrange. Our kitchen cooks from scratch and will happily accommodate a preference or a special occasion. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us good overall. Visitors are welcome without a formal appointment, and we would rather you saw the home on an ordinary day.

    • Care Home

Valley View Court is a residential care home in Keighley, caring for older people who can no longer manage safely on their own. We aim for the atmosphere of a household rather than an institution, with people keeping their own routines, their own belongings and a real say in how their day is spent. We support people living with dementia, and that work rests on continuity above all else. Knowing what somebody's day used to look like, keeping as much of it as we can and understanding what sits behind distress rather than simply managing it is what makes the difference between a settled day and a hard one. We also care for younger adults, and we plan their day around their own interests rather than expecting them to fit into everybody else's. Respite stays are available too, for people who need care for a short while and for family carers who need a proper break. Short stays are planned with the same attention as a permanent move. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The better test is the everyday evidence, whether people are up and occupied, whether mealtimes are sociable and whether relatives feel able to raise a concern early. Please come and see for yourself.

Oakworth Manor Care Home is a residential home in Keighley. We support older people, including those living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing is impaired. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. We should say at the outset that our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to gloss over it. We know what was found, we have an improvement plan and we are working through it with our staff team and with families, reporting progress to the inspectors and to the local authority. Anyone thinking about a place here should ask us exactly what is changing and how we are making sure it holds. What we are working to protect meanwhile is a home where people are known rather than processed. Rooms that belong to the person in them. A day that is not run by a timetable. Visitors welcome without fuss. Staff who notice when somebody is not themselves. For people living with dementia we focus on familiarity and time, and where sight or hearing has changed we pay attention to the practical adjustments that keep somebody connected rather than cut off. Please come and look round, talk to our staff and put the difficult questions to us.

    • Care Home

Springbank Care Home sits in Keighley, and we have come to know this corner of Bradford very well. We provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we welcome residents with physical disabilities and with sight or hearing loss. Some people join us for a short respite stay while a family carer takes a break, and others make their home with us for good. Either way our aim is the same, that the person feels settled, safe and properly listened to. We start by learning how someone likes their day to run. What time they wake, whether they take their tea strong, which chair by the window is theirs, who they want to telephone on a Sunday. Those details matter more than any policy document, and our care staff are trained to notice them. Where someone is living with dementia we keep routines familiar and calm, and we give families honest updates rather than reassurance for its own sake. There is always something going on if people want it, from gentle exercise and music to a quiet cup of tea in the garden when the weather allows. We work closely with local GPs, district nurses and therapists so that health needs are picked up early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that and we keep looking at what could be better. If you are considering care in Keighley, please come and see us.

    • Care Home

Lindisfarne Care Home is a residential home in Keighley, West Yorkshire. We support older people and some younger adults, and we offer both permanent places and respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. The people who live here need a wide range of help. Many need support with personal care, mobility, medication and meals. A number are living with dementia, and for them we keep the day familiar, keep the same staff around and work at their pace rather than ours. We support people living with mental ill health, working alongside community mental health colleagues, people with physical disabilities, where equipment, seating and access decide how much somebody can do for themselves, and people living with sight or hearing loss. Food is cooked on the premises and we ask about tastes and about dietary and religious requirements rather than assuming. There is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, and visitors do not need an appointment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to come and see us and ask us whatever you need to know.

    • Care Home

Croft House is a residential care home in Keighley. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays for families needing a planned break. Food is something we think about more than most people would expect. Appetite often goes first when somebody is unwell or unsettled, and a meal that arrives cold, or at a time nobody is hungry, or that needs cutting up by somebody who has not arrived yet, quietly becomes a meal not eaten. So we pay attention to what people actually like, when they want it, and whether they had the help they needed to enjoy it. For residents living with dementia we protect routine and keep surroundings familiar, and we ask families for the history, the working life and the names, because those are what still connect when much else has slipped. For residents with physical disabilities we plan around what somebody can still manage themselves rather than what is quickest for us. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. Relatives are welcome whenever they want to come, and we would far rather be seen on an ordinary day than on a prepared one, because the ordinary day is the honest one.

    • Care Home

Summerfield Private Residential Home is a care home in Keighley providing care for older people, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. We run the home at the pace of the people in it. Breakfast happens when somebody wakes rather than when a trolley comes round, and the day takes the shape a person wants. The care covers help with washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, support with mobility, and somebody always around when a person needs them. For those living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the faces familiar, and we arrange the house so that it is easy to understand and to move about in. Our staff tend to stay with us for a long time, and that continuity does more to settle somebody than any particular method could. Families are welcome whenever they wish to come, and we would much rather hear a concern early than have it sit unspoken. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. • Care Home

Townend Close in Keighley provides residential care for older people, including many residents living with dementia. We are a home rather than an institution, and we try to keep daily life here steady, familiar and unhurried. People get up when they are ready and spend their time as they wish, whether that is in company in the lounge, out in the garden when the weather allows, or quietly in their own room. Meals are cooked on the premises and we will gladly make something different for anyone who fancies it. Support with washing and dressing is given calmly, because dignity is largely a matter of pace and manner. Dementia care asks a lot of small, patient things. Giving someone time to answer rather than filling the silence. Understanding that a person looking for a house they left decades ago is expressing a real feeling that deserves a real response. Knowing enough about a person's earlier life to find what comforts them, which is why we gather that history early from families. Relatives are welcome throughout the day, and we would much rather hear a concern from you early than discover it late. We also offer respite stays. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

Arranging and funding a dementia care home place in Keighley

Reading the reports with dementia in mind

Nine homes appear on this page, seven rated Good and two marked Requires Improvement. Rather than stopping at the label, look inside each report for what inspectors said about people living with dementia specifically: how staff responded to distress, whether restraint or sedation featured, how choice was offered to people who struggle to express a preference, and how families were kept involved in decisions. Check the publication date too, since a report from several years ago may describe a staff team that has changed entirely. For the two marked down, ask what has changed and what evidence supports it.

What a visit should reveal

Watch how a member of staff approaches someone who is confused or asking the same question again, because that single exchange tells you more than any brochure. Ask what dementia training staff receive, how often it is refreshed, and what turnover has been on the unit over the past year. Look at whether the layout helps people orientate themselves and whether there is somewhere safe to walk. Ask what happens in the late afternoon, when agitation is often at its height, and how distress is handled overnight.

Before committing

Ask about trial periods, the notice required on either side, and what the home would do if needs advanced beyond what it is registered to provide.

Choosing between dementia care homes in Keighley

Getting the needs recorded

A care needs assessment sets out the help required with washing, dressing, eating, mobility and medicines. Where dementia is involved it should go further, capturing how memory loss affects daily life, what triggers distress and what reliably settles it, since that detail determines which homes can realistically meet the need. It is free and carries no financial threshold. A relative providing most of the care should ask for a carer assessment at the same time.

How funding is determined

A financial assessment weighs income, savings and capital to establish the contribution expected and whether public money covers the balance. Property is treated differently depending on circumstances, including whether a spouse continues to live there. The adult social care team at Bradford Metropolitan District Council carries out both assessments and can explain what help may be available while an application is under consideration.

Bringing cost into view

Ask for a written schedule separating accommodation, personal care, laundry, activities and escorted appointments, and ask specifically whether dementia support attracts an additional charge.

Frequently asked questions about dementia care homes in Keighley

How many dementia care homes are there in Keighley?

Keighley has 9 CQC registered care homes that are registered for dementia care, out of 20 CQC registered care homes in Keighley: 6 Good, 3 Requires improvement. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.

Which dementia care homes in Keighley were inspected most recently?

Summerfield Private Residential Home (13 July 2026), Croft House Care Home Limited (14 January 2026) and Oakworth Manor Care Home (18 July 2025) have the most recent CQC reports.

Which providers in Keighley offer dementia care?

Nine registered residential care homes match this search, each with its own profile on this page. Their published Care Quality Commission judgements are seven Good and two Requires Improvement. Registration says nothing about current vacancies, so availability has to be confirmed with each home directly. The profiles are the quickest way to shortlist before making calls.

What is the difference between a dementia care home and a dementia nursing home?

A dementia care home provides personal care, meaning help with washing, dressing, meals, medicines and mobility, from staff trained to support people living with dementia. A dementia nursing home offers the same alongside a registered nurse on duty, which becomes necessary where there are wounds to dress, a feeding tube, unstable diabetes or complex medication to oversee. All the providers listed here are registered as residential care homes rather than nursing homes. If nursing care is needed, the needs assessment should record that and the search should move to nursing provision.

What should be asked when visiting a dementia care home in Keighley?

Ask what dementia training staff receive, how often it is refreshed and what the turnover has been on the unit over the past year. Watch how staff respond to someone who is confused or repeating a question, since that interaction reveals more than any tour. Ask how distress is managed, particularly in the late afternoon and overnight, and whether medication is ever used to settle behaviour. Where a home has been marked Requires Improvement, ask directly what has changed since the inspection.

How is a care needs assessment arranged in Keighley?

Contact the adult social care team at Bradford Metropolitan District Council and request an assessment of care and support needs. There is no charge and no means test attached to asking, so it is worth doing even where care will be funded privately. Make sure the assessment records how dementia affects daily life, what causes distress and what helps, since that shapes which homes are suitable. If the person is in hospital, the ward team can begin the process before discharge.

Can Bradford Metropolitan District Council fund a dementia placement?

It may, once both a care needs assessment and a financial assessment have been completed. The needs assessment must establish that residential care is the appropriate form of support rather than help at home. The financial assessment then considers income, savings and capital to set the contribution expected. If a council contribution is agreed, ask in writing whether a third party top up would be sought and who would be liable for it.

How early should a dementia care home search begin?

Starting before a crisis matters particularly where dementia is involved, because a sudden move is harder for someone who depends on familiar surroundings. Six to eight weeks allows room for assessments, several visits and a careful read of the inspection reports. After a hospital admission the timescale is often much shorter, and the council team is the quickest route then. Even a provisional shortlist prepared early means an urgent decision is still an informed one.
