About Brambling Lodge
Brambling Lodge is a residential care home in Dover in Kent. We provide a home for older people who need support with daily living, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available. Because the people living here have genuinely different needs, we plan care one person at a time. What settles somebody with dementia is not what helps somebody with a physical disability keep their independence, and one routine stretched across everybody suits nobody in particular. So we spend our attention on the details: how a person likes to be addressed, what they can still do and would rather do themselves, what tends to make a bad day and what heads it off early. Where sight or hearing loss is involved, habits matter more than equipment. Saying who you are as you come into the room. Leaving furniture exactly where it lives. Checking that hearing aids and glasses are clean and working rather than assuming. People here decide when they get up, what they eat and how they spend the day. Visitors are welcome whenever suits them, and we would far rather a concern reached us early and bluntly than be stored up for months. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
