About Brambling House
Brambling House is a residential care home in Dover, Kent. We are a permanent home to older people, and we also offer respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with washing and dressing, moving about safely, medication given properly and on time, and meals worth looking forward to, with somebody nearby through the night. A good number are living with dementia, and we let that shape the whole house rather than treating it as a separate wing. The day follows a recognisable pattern, familiar staff are around, people keep their own belongings and habits, and somebody who is anxious gets company and time rather than correction. We also support people with physical disabilities, where equipment, seating and access decide how much independence somebody has, and people living with sight or hearing loss, where announcing ourselves clearly and giving information in a usable form matters a great deal. Food is cooked on the premises and people are asked what they would like. There is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, and visitors do not need an appointment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to come and see us.
