About Symphony House Nursing Home
We are a nursing home in Northampton, caring for older people whose needs require qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people with physical disabilities. Having registered nurses on duty means medication, pain, wounds, continence and the difficulties people have with eating, drinking and moving can be managed properly and without waiting, and that a change in somebody's health is noticed early rather than late. That often makes the difference between a person staying settled here and being sent into hospital. Necessary as the clinical work is, it is not the whole of a life. People here still choose when they get up, what they wear, what they would like to eat and who they want beside them. Much of what makes a day good is small: a hot drink at the time it is wanted, help with washing given without hurry, somebody noticing that a person has gone quiet and sitting down with them. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves than leave you to find it later. We are working through the points the inspectors raised, and if you are considering us for somebody close to you we will go through the report with you and answer whatever you want to ask. Please come and see the home as it really is.
