About Althorp Grange
Althorp Grange is a nursing home in Northampton, caring for older people across West Northamptonshire who need qualified nursing as well as help with daily life. Many residents are living with dementia, we support people living with mental ill health and younger adults with nursing needs, and we offer respite stays. We will not be coy about our regulator. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have gone through the report properly. Care planning and records have been reworked, clinical oversight tightened, supervision of the staff team strengthened, and concerns now reach somebody who can act on them far more quickly. That work is not complete, and we would rather tell you than let you find out. Ask what specifically has changed and we will answer with specifics. The nursing itself carries on, and the people here rely on it daily. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, so health needs are met on site by staff who know the resident instead of through a hospital admission that unsettles everybody, particularly someone living with dementia. Alongside that, we work at the ordinary things. Unhurried help, food worth eating, and a routine residents can recognise. Respite care is available after illness or surgery and for carers needing a break. Please visit at a normal time of day, talk to whoever you like, and put the hard questions to us.
