About Lillington House
Lillington House in Leamington Spa is a nursing home for younger adults with physical disabilities and complex health needs. We also offer respite stays, which for many families is the break that makes the rest of the year manageable. Needing nursing care while you are still young is a particular situation and it deserves a particular response. People here are at an age when they would otherwise be working, studying, going out and making their own decisions, and we plan support so that as much of that as possible remains possible. The nursing is there to make life workable, not to become the whole of it. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, which means medication, respiratory care, feeding, pressure care and the complications of long term conditions are managed here rather than through repeated hospital admissions. We work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, GPs and specialist consultants. Residents decide how their days run, keep their own interests and belongings, and see family and friends without appointment. Where somebody communicates differently, we learn how and make sure everybody supporting them knows. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Families and professionals are welcome to visit and see the home for themselves.
