About Helen Ley House
Helen Ley House is a nursing home in Leamington Spa. We care for adults with nursing needs, including younger adults and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite and short stays. Much of our work is with people who are younger than the people usually pictured in a nursing home, and who have a great deal of life still to organise. Nursing need does not cancel out ambition, friendships, work, study or the wish to make your own decisions, and support that forgets this quickly becomes something people endure rather than use. So while qualified nurses are on duty at all hours and we manage complex health needs, medication, continence and pressure care and long standing conditions carefully, the point of all that is to leave people free to get on with things. We look closely at equipment, wheelchairs, transfers and how the building is arranged, because independence usually turns on practical detail rather than good intentions. Residents decide how their rooms look, how their days run and how much they want to be involved in what is going on. We work alongside therapists, specialist teams and GPs so that people are not left repeating themselves to every new professional. Respite here gives people a genuine break and gives family carers a proper rest. Guests are welcome to visit first. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see us.
