About Meadowcroft Health Care
We are Meadowcroft Health Care, a nursing home in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, including people managing a mental health condition and people with a physical disability, and we take respite stays. Having qualified nurses here at every hour is the practical difference between us and a residential home. Changes in a resident's health are picked up by staff who already know them, a move elsewhere is rarely necessary when a condition shifts, and care at the end of life can be given here among familiar people. Supporting somebody with a mental health condition alongside nursing needs asks for patience and consistency. Some weeks go better than others, and what makes a placement work is that a person is not treated as a problem on the harder days. We work alongside community mental health teams and GPs so that support here and support outside are joined up. For people with a physical disability, it is time and detail that count: an unhurried transfer, equipment set up properly, and asking the person who knows how it is best done. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
