About Forest Manor Care Home
Forest Manor Care Home is a nursing home in Sutton in Ashfield, and we care for a wide range of people. Older people whose health needs go beyond residential care. Younger adults living with conditions that require qualified nursing. People living with dementia. People living with mental ill health alongside a physical condition. People with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available too. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, which is what lets us take on that breadth. Medication is managed closely, wound care and conditions that shift from week to week are handled on site, and a change in somebody's health is generally noticed early because the person noticing knows them. We work with GPs, district nurses, community mental health teams, therapists and hospital staff, and we keep asking when a resident needs something slow to arrive. Dementia care runs through much of our work, and we treat it as caring for a person with a history rather than managing a condition. Families usually hold that history, and we ask for it early, because it is what allows us to understand distress somebody cannot put into words. The day here is kept calm and unhurried. People wake when they wake, eat what they like, and spend their time as they choose. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome whenever they want to come. Ring us if you would like to look round.
