Brown Clee Care is a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across Telford and the surrounding area. The people we visit include people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing mental ill health, people with a physical disability, and people with sight or hearing loss. We work with younger adults as well as older people, and support ranges from a short daily call to longer visits and regular support over months. We start with a visit and a proper conversation. What does the person want help with, what would they rather keep doing themselves, and what does a good day look like to them? The plan follows from that, it belongs to them, and it changes when they say it needs to. Where spoken conversation is not the easiest route for someone, we use whatever way works for them. Continuity is the part people notice most, so we keep the same carers going to the same households as far as the rota allows. It is how somebody spots that a person is quieter than last week or has not been eating properly, and it saves people from explaining themselves again to a new face. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. Because of that we would encourage anyone considering us to ask more searching questions than they might otherwise.
