About Home Instead
We are Home Instead in Newport, and we support people in their own homes across Newport and the wider Telford and Wrekin area. Most of the people we visit are older adults who want to stay in the home they know. We also support younger adults, people living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with mental health needs, people with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss. What we offer is time. A visit is built around the person rather than around a list of tasks to be got through, because the practical help, washing, dressing, medication, meals and the shopping, tends to go better when it is unhurried and when it comes from somebody the person recognises. Companionship is a real part of the work rather than an extra, and for a good many of the people we visit it is the part that changes the week. We try to match people thoughtfully and to keep those matches stable. Relatives, particularly those living at a distance, tell us that knowing who is coming and when is what allows them to stop worrying. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of it, and we treat it as something to keep earning rather than something settled. If you are thinking about care at home for somebody, we are happy to talk with no pressure attached.
