About Home First South

We are Suffolk Home First South, and we provide support to people in their own homes across Ipswich and the southern part of Suffolk. The clue is in the name: our starting point is that home is where most people would rather be, and our job is to make that workable. A good deal of our work is with people who are coming out of hospital or who have had a setback at home and need help for a while to get back on their feet. That means help with getting washed and dressed, moving about safely, medication, meals, shopping and the practical jobs around the house, delivered at the times that actually suit the person. It also means knowing when to do less. Where somebody is regaining confidence and ability, we would far rather step back than keep visits going out of habit, and we say so honestly when we think that point has come. We assess in the person's own home, agree the plan with them and with family if that is wanted, and review it properly as things change. We work closely with hospital and community health colleagues. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch.
