About Help at Home Care
Help at Home Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Beccles and the surrounding part of Suffolk. We work with older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Almost everybody who contacts us wants the same thing. To carry on living in their own house, with their own belongings and their own way of running a day, helped just enough to make that safe and manageable. Our job is to provide that help without taking the household over. We begin with a visit and an unhurried conversation about what has genuinely become difficult, which is often not what families assume. Sometimes it is washing and dressing, sometimes medication or meals, sometimes getting to appointments, and quite often it is simply that the days have grown very long and quiet. The plan follows from that and is revised as needs change. We keep the team around each person small and introduce new staff properly rather than sending somebody unannounced. For people living with dementia and for anyone who cannot see or hear well, a familiar voice at the door and an unhurried manner matter a great deal. This is a rural area, so we build rotas around real distances rather than ones that look efficient on paper and leave people waiting. Please give us a ring if you would like to talk about support in the Beccles area.
