About Head Office

We are a home care agency based in Ipswich, supporting people in their own homes across the surrounding parts of Suffolk. Most of the people we visit are older, and many are living with dementia. We also support people with physical disabilities who need help to manage daily life at home. Home care works when it is built around the person rather than around a standard package. For some of the people we support that means a short call in the morning to help with getting up, washing and dressing, leaving the rest of the day their own. For others it means help with medication, meals and the running of a household, or several visits through the day where that is what makes staying at home realistic rather than a polite fiction. We agree what is needed at the start, write it down plainly and change it when circumstances change. Continuity is the part of this work people notice most, so we try to keep the same small group of carers going to the same person. A familiar face at the door counts for a lot, and a carer who knows somebody well is the one who spots that they are not quite right today. Living with dementia at home takes patience from everyone involved, and we would much rather our carers had time to do things properly than hurry a visit.
