About Oxlip House

Oxlip House provides care at home to older people in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding part of Suffolk. What we do is deliberately focused. We help older people manage at home, with visits covering washing and dressing, medication, meals, laundry, shopping and support to get out to appointments or simply out of the house. Doing one thing and doing it properly suits us better than trying to be everything. Consistency is what we work hardest to protect. Care at home is a relationship as much as a set of tasks, and a carer who knows a household notices when something is not right, adjusts without making a fuss and turns a visit into an ordinary part of somebody's morning. Someone who sees a different face every week has to start from the beginning each time, which is not much of a service. Company matters too. For a good number of the people we visit, our carer is the main person they will speak to that day, so we build visits with time for a conversation rather than treating it as something that happens if the tasks finish early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you are thinking about care at home for yourself or a relative here, please get in touch and we will come out and talk it through.
