For many of the households we visit, particularly people living alone in the villages, the company matters as much as anything practical. Covering a rural patch means being realistic about travel, so we plan rounds carefully, arrive when we said we would and telephone if we are held up. We agree the plan with the person and anyone they want involved, write it in plain words and review it as needs change. The Care Quality Commission has not yet published an overall rating for us.
