Home Instead Mid Norfolk provides care and companionship in people's own homes across mid Norfolk from our base in Norwich. We visit older people, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. We put real weight on the length of a visit. A great deal of what makes home care worthwhile cannot be done at speed: a proper conversation, a meal eaten together rather than left on a tray, a walk that is not rushed. When calls are too short everything becomes a task, and the person becomes a list. So we build time into what we do, and we expect our carers to sit down. The practical help covers washing and dressing, medication, meals, moving safely around the house, household jobs, shopping, appointments and getting out. For people living with dementia we hold to familiar carers at familiar times and work with the routines already in the household rather than improving on them. Where sight or hearing loss is part of things, the small habits carry the weight: saying who we are as we arrive, leaving furniture exactly where it lives, checking that glasses and hearing aids are clean and working. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. Please ask us openly about our staffing and training.
