About Ashtree Care Village

Ashtree Care Village provides care to people in their own homes in and around Norwich. We support older people, including many living with dementia. We keep what we do straightforward and we try to do it well. A visit might mean help to get up, washed and dressed in the morning, support with medication, a meal made properly, the shopping and laundry sorted, or company and a hand getting to an appointment. For many of the people we visit, the greatest value is that somebody reliable turns up, notices how things are and has time for a proper conversation. Dementia is a large part of our work and it shapes how we organise ourselves. We plan rounds so that the same carers go to the same homes, because a familiar face at the door does more for somebody's confidence than anything else we can arrange. Familiar staff also know what normal looks like for a person and can say so early when it changes. We agree what is needed with the person and with whoever they want involved, put it in plain writing and change it as circumstances change rather than waiting for a review date. We keep families informed, particularly those living too far away to call in. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We would rather tell you that openly, and answer any question you have about how we recruit, train and supervise our staff.
