We visit older people and younger adults. Support may cover help with washing and dressing, prompting or giving medication, preparing meals, shopping, laundry and keeping the house in order. For a great many of the people we visit it also means a familiar face at a predictable time and someone who notices how they are getting on. We support people living with dementia, and continuity is at the heart of that work. We build our rounds so that the same carers see the same people wherever we can arrange it, because familiarity is the most effective thing anybody can offer in dementia care. Before care begins we come out, talk and assess properly. We want to understand the household, the routines that already work and the things that have become difficult, and we want the person themselves to shape the plan. Family are welcome in that conversation when the person wants them there, and the plan changes as needs change. If you are considering care at home, please get in touch.
