Thorough Care supports people in their own homes in Rochford and across the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people, including many living with dementia, and with adults of any age who have a learning disability or autism, a physical disability, or a visual or hearing impairment. We also support younger adults who want help to live more independently. Home care is at its best when it fits round somebody quietly. We start by asking what is genuinely difficult and what someone still manages perfectly well on their own, and we build the support from that. Visits can cover personal care, prompting and support with medication, preparing meals and drinks, moving safely around the home, laundry, shopping and getting to appointments. For some people the most valuable part is simply that someone reliable comes, notices how they are and has time to talk. We agree the plan with the person and with their family where they want that, and we review it when things change instead of letting it run on out of habit. Timings are agreed and we do our best to keep to them, because a call that arrives when it said it would is worth more than an apology later. Continuity is a priority. We aim to send the same small team to the same household so that people are not explaining themselves to a stranger each week.
