About SeaShell (Forest & Harlow)
We are SeaShell, and we support adults in their own homes across Epping Forest and Harlow. Our visits run from a single short call each day through to several hours of support, and we arrange them around the person's day rather than around our rota. We help older people with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and getting out and about. We support adults living with dementia, where a familiar face and an unhurried manner do most of the work. We also support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, adapting how we communicate and assist so that the person stays in charge of their own day. Some of those we support are younger adults working towards greater independence. Everything begins with a visit and a proper conversation at home, with family or an advocate present if that is wanted. We agree what the calls are for, what must never be missed and what somebody would rather manage alone, and we write it down and review it. Our care workers are recruited with full checks and references, trained before they work alone and supervised afterwards. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to talk about care at home.
