About Faiths Care
Faiths Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Colchester and the surrounding part of Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. We begin with a visit at home, because what somebody needs is obvious in their own kitchen and seldom obvious on a form. What we want to understand is how the household runs, who is already helping, what the person manages perfectly well without us and where help would make a real difference. The plan comes out of that conversation and belongs to the person to change. Support may be a single daily call for personal care and medication, several visits covering meals, housework, shopping and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone for long. Where somebody communicates in their own way we learn it and write it down, so the whole team responds alike rather than each carer improvising. Continuity is what families notice most, so we keep rounds tight and local, send the same carers wherever we can, and say in advance when a new face is coming. Our carers are checked, trained and supervised. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, and we are glad to talk things through without obligation.
