About Amazingly Care
We support people in their own homes in Chelmsford and across Essex. Much of our work is with adults who have learning disabilities and with autistic adults, alongside older people and younger adults moving towards living independently. We begin with what the person wants their life to look like rather than with a list of tasks. For many of those we support, our purpose is not to do things for them but to make it possible for them to do things themselves, and then to step back. That covers cooking, managing money, getting to a job or a course, using the bus, and dealing with the everyday business that can be genuinely daunting on your own. Predictability is central to this work. Knowing who is coming and when, being told about changes in good time, and not having arrangements altered casually are often what separates a manageable week from a difficult one. The cost of getting that wrong falls on the person rather than on us. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that than leave it unsaid. We are happy to be asked how we recruit, train and supervise our staff, and to be judged on what the people we support say about us.
