Novus Care provides live in care to people in their own homes in Canvey Island and the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people, with people who have physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment, and with younger adults who need support to live independently. Live in care suits people who need more than a few calls a day but who have no wish to leave their own home. A carer lives in the house and is there for the ordinary rhythm of the day, with personal care, medication, meals, the housework and the shopping, as well as company and a hand to get out and about. For many families it is the arrangement that makes staying at home realistic rather than merely hoped for. Because the carer shares the home, matching matters enormously. We take time over it, introduce people properly and change the arrangement if it is not right, because nobody should feel they have to put up with a poor fit in their own house. Support is planned with the person and their family, written in plain language and reviewed as needs change. We arrange cover for the carer's breaks so there is no gap.
