We are a home care agency based in Basildon, providing support to people in their own homes across Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults. Our part is a practical one. People come to us when managing at home has become harder than it was, often after a fall, a stay in hospital or a gradual change that has caught up with them. We arrange visits at the times that suit, helping with washing and dressing, support with medication, meals, shopping and housework, and assistance to get out of the house and to appointments. Where somebody needs more, we arrange more frequent calls, and where needs change we review the plan rather than leaving it as first agreed. What people really judge an agency on is whether carers arrive when they said they would and whether it is the same faces each week. We work at both. A carer who knows somebody will notice when they are unwell, in pain or unusually quiet, and the person is spared explaining themselves over and over. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can turn to. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are happy to discuss that with anyone considering us.
