About The Integration Trust
The Integration Trust supports people in their own homes in Durham and the surrounding area. Our work is mainly with adults who have a learning disability, with autistic adults and with people who have physical disabilities. We take the view that our job is to make somebody's own life work, not to organise it for them. Support is planned with the person, in a way they understand, and it covers what they are trying to achieve as much as the help they need. That might mean support to keep a tenancy going, to cook and manage money, to get to work, college or the places they enjoy, to deal with appointments and health, or to have somebody steady alongside them in situations they find hard. Personal care is part of it for some people and not for others. Where someone does not use speech, we take the time to learn how they communicate and make sure everyone supporting them knows it, because a support worker who misreads a person creates problems that need not exist. Keeping teams small and consistent is part of the same thinking. We work with families, advocates and other professionals, but always on terms the person is content with. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection. If you are arranging support around Durham, for yourself or someone you work with, please get in touch.
