About Home Instead
Home Instead Durham provides care and support in people's own homes across Durham and the surrounding parts of County Durham. Home is where most people would rather be, and our work is to keep that a safe and realistic option. We visit older people and younger adults, with packages ranging from a single call each day to substantial support built around complex needs. Visits cover personal care, medication, meals, shopping, laundry and household tasks, and for a great many of the people we see, company and conversation as well. We support people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Each asks something different of us in how we communicate, how we pace a visit and how we plan for the harder days. Continuity of carer is built into the rota rather than hoped for. Knowing who is coming through the door, and at roughly what time, is not a luxury. Our carers are trained for the needs of the people they actually visit and are properly supervised once they are in post. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us outstanding, which reflects the daily work of the team. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss care at home.
