We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and people managing a mental health condition. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. What we are working towards is a home built around individuals. The people here have very different needs, and support has to be planned person by person rather than by group. Birmingham is a city of many communities, and food, language and faith matter because they are part of who somebody is. Please visit before deciding anything. • Care Home

Oakwood Care Home is a residential home in Birmingham for older people, offering both permanent places and shorter respite stays. We look after people who need help with the ordinary business of the day: getting washed and dressed, taking medication on time, eating well, moving safely around the building and having somebody to talk to. A good number of the people who live here are living with dementia, and our approach to that is practical. We keep routines steady, we keep the surroundings easy to make sense of, and we take the time to understand what a person is telling us even when the words do not come easily. Meals are a proper part of the day rather than an interruption to it, and we pay attention to what people actually like to eat. There is a rhythm to the week, with things to join in with for those who want them and quiet for those who do not. Respite stays are important to us too. Families looking after a relative at home need rest, and a planned stay here can make the difference between coping and not coping. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are easy to reach from across Birmingham, and we would encourage anyone considering a move to visit, meet the team and see how the day feels.

    • Care Home

Here at Agnes House, we provide residential care for adults in Birmingham, offering a genuine home where people feel safe, respected and part of a community. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, which reflects the commitment our team brings to supporting residents every single day. We care for a wide range of people, including older adults, those living with dementia, individuals with learning disabilities or autism, people managing mental health conditions, those with physical disabilities, and adults with visual or hearing impairments. We also welcome younger adults and offer respite care for those who need a short term stay, as well as support for individuals affected by alcohol or drug misuse. We believe that no matter someone's background or circumstances, they deserve to be treated with dignity and to live as comfortably as possible. Dementia care is something we take particularly seriously. We understand how disorientating and frightening it can be for both the person living with dementia and their loved ones, so we work hard to create a calm and familiar environment where residents can feel at ease. Our team gets to know each resident as an individual. We take time to understand what matters to people, their routines, their preferences, their histories, and we build care around that rather than the other way around. Family members and friends are always welcome, and we encourage people to stay involved in the lives of those they love. If you are considering Agnes House for yourself or for someone close to you, we would warmly invite you to come and have a look around and speak with us directly. We are always happy to answer questions and help you work out whether we are the right fit for your needs.

In practice, this means careful listening to families, individualised care planning, and a team committed to understanding each resident as a whole person rather than a set of needs. The Care Quality Commission currently rates Cedarwood Care Centre as Requires Improvement overall, following its inspection on 10 March 2022, with the same rating across the Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led domains. We take this rating seriously and view it as a clear focus for ongoing development. • Care Home

We are a residential care home in Birmingham, providing a home for older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. Our aim is a settled house where help is close at hand without taking over somebody's life. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines as far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be part of whatever is happening. Where someone needs help with washing, dressing or moving about, we try to give it without hurry and without doing more of the task than is actually needed, because what a person can still manage themselves is worth protecting. Dementia care rests on knowing the person rather than following a procedure, so we ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits. That knowledge is worth more than any written plan when somebody is frightened or cannot place where they are. Meals are cooked here and we listen when somebody would rather have something different. Family and friends are welcome whenever they wish to come. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and look round before deciding anything.

    • Care Home

Kerria Court is a residential care home in Birmingham. We support older people who need help with daily life, including many living with dementia, and younger adults who need residential care. We also offer respite stays. Moving into a home usually follows a difficult period, so we take the settling in slowly. We ask about the routines somebody has kept for years, the food they actually like, how they take their tea and whether they would rather be up early or have a lie in, and we build around that rather than expecting people to adapt to us. Rooms hold people's own furniture and photographs, and we knock before we come in. Birmingham is a city of many communities, and food, language, faith and family custom matter to whether somebody feels at home. We take the trouble to get those right rather than treating them as extras. For residents living with dementia, familiarity does most of the work, so we keep our team settled and learn each person's history properly. When somebody is distressed we look for the reason behind it. Health needs are managed with local GPs and community nurses, and families are kept properly informed. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and look round.

    • Care Home

Marian House is a residential care home in Birmingham providing a home for a varied group of people: older adults, younger adults, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people with loss of sight or hearing, and people living with mental health conditions. That range works because we build support around the individual rather than around a category. One person may need help with almost every part of the day and another hardly any, and both live here on the same terms. We ask each person what a good day looks like for them, write it down in a form that makes sense to them, and change it when they say so. Communication gets close attention, using speech, signing, symbols, objects of reference or simply the understanding that comes from knowing somebody well. For people with sensory loss we adapt how rooms are lit and how we approach and announce ourselves, because those small things decide whether a person is included or left on the edge. People here are supported to get out to work, college, clubs and family, and to be as involved in running the house as they want to be. Respite stays are available.

We are a residential care home in Erdington, providing a home for older people and younger adults who need support with daily living. The people who live here include those with dementia, people with mental health conditions and people whose difficulties have involved alcohol or drugs. What we try to offer is steadiness. Familiar staff, a predictable shape to the week, meals at reliable times and a house where somebody can be left in peace when that is what they need. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines so far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be involved in whatever is going on. We take people as they are. Several of those living here have had a difficult road and have met plenty of judgement along the way, and they will not meet it from us. What helps is staff who are steady, who do not moralise and who know a person well enough to see difficulty coming rather than only reacting once it has arrived. Where somebody is living with dementia, knowing their history and habits does more good than any procedure. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Our home in the West Midlands has been thoughtfully created to feel like a true place of belonging, where every resident is valued as an individual. Set within the Birmingham community, our centre offers a comfortable and homely environment designed to support daily living whilst encouraging independence. Familiar surroundings, welcoming communal areas, and quieter spaces for reflection or family visits all contribute to an atmosphere where residents can feel genuinely at ease. Being located within Birmingham means loved ones can visit easily, staying closely connected to those in our care. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the people we support. Alongside residential care for older people, we provide dedicated dementia care, delivered with patience, understanding, and person centred approaches that honour each resident's life story. For adults living with learning disabilities or autism, we focus on routines, communication styles, and interests that help each person thrive. We also welcome individuals with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments, adapting our approach so that everyone feels understood and supported. Younger adults living with us benefit from an environment that recognises their goals, aspirations, and social needs, whilst our respite care offers valuable short term stays. This can provide reassurance for families needing a trusted place of care during a holiday, recovery period, or simply a well deserved break, knowing their loved one is in safe and attentive hands. In practice, this breadth of expertise means families can trust that care plans are shaped around the whole person, not just a diagnosis. From supporting mobility and sensory needs to encouraging meaningful activity, social connection, and emotional wellbeing, our team strives to create days that feel purposeful and comforting. We understand that choosing a care home is a deeply personal decision, and we work closely with families to ensure open communication and shared understanding throughout the journey. Perry Tree Centre holds an overall CQC rating of Good, with Good ratings across the Safe, Effective, Caring, and Responsive domains. This reflects the everyday commitment of our team to delivering kind, competent, and responsive care. Our Well-led domain was rated as Requires Improvement at the latest inspection, and we take such feedback seriously as an opportunity to continue strengthening leadership and governance, always with residents' best interests at the centre of everything we do. If you are exploring care options in Birmingham for a loved one, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Whether you are considering long term residential care, dementia support, specialist care for a younger adult, or a short respite stay, our door is open. Briarscroft is a residential care home in Birmingham. We support older people who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia, and we take respite bookings for families needing a break or a period of extra support after illness. We try to run the home the way a household runs rather than the way an institution does. People get up when they wake, eat what they actually like, keep their own furniture and photographs around them and carry on with the habits that make them feel themselves. Families are welcome without appointment, and we would far rather people dropped in than waited for a visiting slot. Supporting somebody living with dementia asks for patience and a good memory for detail. Our staff learn the small things: the preferred chair, the songs that settle somebody, the hours of the day that are harder, the stories worth hearing again. None of that appears in a care plan, but it is what makes the difference between a home that works and one that merely functions. When someone's needs are changing we say so early and talk it through with the family rather than arriving with a decision already made. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking at residential or respite care in Birmingham, please arrange to visit and we will show you round properly.

Strensham Hill Care Home is a residential care home in Birmingham. The people living here include older people, many of them living with dementia, along with people with a learning disability or autism, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available. Because our residents need quite different things from us, support is planned with each person rather than run to a single pattern. People keep their own rooms, their own belongings and their own routines, and they decide how much of the day to spend in company and how much on their own. We ask about the small preferences in detail and expect our staff to follow them, since those details are most of what makes a place feel like home. For residents living with dementia, consistency helps more than anything. Familiar staff, routines that change only when there is a reason, and the patience to understand what somebody means when words have become unreliable. We take the same care over communication with residents who have a learning disability or autism, or sight or hearing loss. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We take it as evidence that the everyday work is being done properly and we keep looking at the detail. If you are considering a care home in Birmingham for someone close to you, you are welcome to visit, meet our staff and residents and ask us anything you like.

Our setting has been thoughtfully arranged to feel like a true home rather than an institution. Residents enjoy comfortable communal areas where friendships flourish, quieter spaces for reflection, and private rooms where personal belongings and treasured memories help create a familiar environment. Being based in Birmingham means families can visit easily, whilst residents benefit from the reassurance of a well connected local community around them. We specialise in a broad spectrum of care needs, recognising that no two residents are ever the same. Our team supports older people who require residential care, individuals living with dementia, adults facing mental health challenges, and younger adults who need tailored daily support. We also provide respite care, offering families peace of mind when a loved one needs short term support, or when regular carers need time to rest and recharge. In practice, this breadth of expertise means that residents receive care shaped around who they are, not simply what they need. For someone living with dementia, this may look like gentle routines, meaningful activities, and staff who understand how to communicate with patience and warmth. For a younger adult, it may involve encouraging independence and personal goals. For those needing mental health support, it means a calm, understanding environment where dignity is always at the centre of every interaction. Families can feel confident that their loved one is seen as an individual, with preferences, life stories, and personalities all honoured. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection, dated August 2023, in which we were rated Good across every single domain. Being recognised as Good in Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led is a reflection of the dedication our team brings to work every day. It means that our residents are safeguarded, that the care they receive genuinely improves their wellbeing, that kindness sits at the heart of every task, that we respond thoughtfully to changing needs, and that our home is guided by strong, consistent leadership. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. We at Dudley Court Care warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and discover whether our home could be the right next chapter for someone you love. Whatever your circumstances, we are here to listen, to reassure, and to help you feel confident about the path ahead.

We at Warren Farm Lodge are proud to offer compassionate residential care in the heart of Birmingham, providing a warm and welcoming home for older people, including those living with dementia. Our setting in the West Midlands has been thoughtfully created to feel familiar, comforting, and safe for every resident who joins our family. Nestled within the Birmingham community, our home benefits from the calm of a local neighbourhood whilst remaining easily accessible for visiting loved ones. The surroundings offer a peaceful atmosphere where residents can enjoy the comforts of daily life, with communal spaces designed for relaxation, conversation, and the gentle rhythms that make a house truly feel like home. Our care is shaped around the individual. As specialists in older person care, residential care, and dementia care, we understand that every resident arrives with a lifetime of memories, preferences, and personality. For those living with dementia, this means an environment where routines are reassuring, where staff take the time to truly know each person, and where families can feel confident their loved one is understood. For residents seeking longer term residential support, it means dignified assistance with daily living delivered with patience and genuine warmth. Families tell us that the greatest comfort comes from knowing their relative is treated as a person first, and we hold this principle at the centre of everything we do. We are pleased to share that Warren Farm Lodge was rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission at our most recent inspection in March 2021, achieving a Good rating across all five domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. This consistent outcome reflects the dedication of our team and our ongoing commitment to delivering care that families can trust. Choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we understand the questions, worries, and hopes that come with it. We warmly invite you to get in touch, ask anything that matters to you, and arrange a visit to experience the atmosphere of Warren Farm Lodge for yourself. Whatever the next chapter looks like for your loved one, we are here to walk alongside you with kindness and care.

Here at Metchley Manor, we are a care home based in Birmingham, providing a warm and supportive environment for the people who live with us. We support a wide range of needs, including older person care, residential care, dementia care, physical disability, visual and hearing impairment, younger adults, and respite care, so we are well placed to help individuals and families who are navigating some genuinely complex circumstances. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. Our approach is rooted in getting to know each person properly, understanding not just their care needs but their preferences, routines, and what matters most to them day to day. That shapes everything from how we plan someone's care to how we spend time with them socially. Our team works hard to make sure Metchley Manor feels like a real home rather than an institution. We think the atmosphere here reflects that, and we are proud that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, which we feel is a fair reflection of the standard we hold ourselves to. For those who need short term support, our respite care provision gives families and carers the opportunity to take a break with the confidence that their loved one is in safe and familiar hands. We also have experience supporting younger adults, which means we understand that care needs do not always follow a predictable pattern and that a one size fits all approach simply does not work. If you would like to find out more about life at Metchley Manor or come in for a visit, we would be very glad to hear from you. We are always happy to have an honest conversation about whether we are the right fit for you or your family member.

    • Care Home

Holly House Care Home is in Birmingham. We provide residential care for adults, including people living with dementia and people living with mental ill health, as well as younger adults. Respite stays are available alongside longer term places. A good deal of our work sits where dementia and mental ill health overlap, which is an area other settings sometimes shy away from. People arriving here may have had difficult experiences elsewhere and may take a while to trust that this will be different. We expect that. Settling in is not a week long process for everybody, and we do not treat slow progress as a failure. Day to day we help with personal care, medication, meals and keeping in touch with family, health services and anyone else who matters to the person. We try to keep the home calm, predictable and unhurried, because that does more for most of our residents than any planned activity. When someone is distressed, we look for the reason. Having younger adults living here too means we are careful that their days do not drift into a pattern designed around much older residents. Respite stays give family carers a break and sometimes give the person a useful change of scene. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit Holly House.

Ash House is a residential care home in Birmingham supporting adults with a wide range of needs. The people living here include autistic adults and adults with a learning disability, people living with dementia, those managing mental ill health or an eating disorder, adults with physical disabilities, people with sight or hearing loss and younger adults. We also offer respite stays. Supporting that spread of needs under one roof is only possible if care is planned for the individual rather than the group. We spend real time getting to know somebody, we write plans that describe the person rather than the category, and we review them properly as things change. What steadies one person here would unsettle another, and we would rather do the work of finding out than apply a house approach to everyone. People choose how their rooms look, take part in the ordinary business of the house as much as they want to and are able to, and get out to what they enjoy in Birmingham. Where somebody wants a job, a course or a regular club, that belongs in the plan rather than at the edges of it. We keep the staff team as consistent as we can, train them to notice early signs of distress and work closely with families, social workers, GPs and community teams. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Visitors and referrers are welcome.

The Ridings Care Home is a nursing home in Birmingham. We provide both residential and nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support younger adults whose needs call for nursing. Respite stays are available for people who need care for a short period. Offering residential and nursing care in one place means that if someone's health changes, they do not have to move house and start again among strangers. That continuity matters, particularly to people living with dementia, for whom an unnecessary move can undo months of settling in. The day here belongs to the people who live here. Residents keep their own routines, their own possessions and their own preferences, and staff work around them rather than the other way round. We learn about people's earlier lives, their work, their families and their interests, and we use what we learn. It is far easier to comfort someone or lift a difficult afternoon when you know who they are. Families are welcome throughout the day, and we treat what relatives tell us as part of the care plan rather than as background. If something is not right, we would much rather hear about it straight away. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We take that as a floor rather than a ceiling. If you are considering nursing or residential care in Birmingham, please contact us and come to see the home for yourself.

Stennards Leisure Retirement Home in Birmingham is a residential care home for older people who need help with daily living. We support people living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays. With that range of needs we build round individuals rather than running one routine. Before anybody moves in we spend time with them and whoever they want involved, learning how they like their days to go, what they manage perfectly well themselves and where help would be welcome. Help with washing, dressing, mobility, medication and health appointments is given as the person has asked and recorded carefully, so it happens the same way whoever is on shift. Rooms and equipment get real thought, since independence often turns on whether a thing is within reach. Where there is sensory loss we attend to lighting, contrast, clear signs and hearing aids that have actually been checked. With dementia we lean on knowing somebody well, gathering their history with their family and keeping it current. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition we aim to be steady and clear. Meals are cooked here with real choice, and many of the families we work with have their own traditions about food that we take seriously. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated the home good overall.

Platinum Care is a residential care home in Birmingham supporting a broad mix of people. We care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss, including younger adults. We support people living with eating disorders and people in recovery from alcohol or drug misuse as well. That range works because our method stays consistent. We take time to learn how somebody communicates, what their day ought to contain and what tends to make a difficult one, and then we build support around that rather than fitting everybody into the same routine. Where a person can take on more for themselves, we make room for it instead of stepping in from habit. Respite stays are available too, for people needing short term support and for families who need a break. The better test is whether people here look at ease. Visitors are welcome.

    • Care Home

Maple Dene is a residential care home in Birmingham supporting older people, including those living with dementia. We offer permanent places and respite stays. The weeks after a move matter more than anything that follows, so that is where we concentrate. We want to know what somebody did for a living, who is important to them, what they like to eat, when they prefer to wake, what unsettles them and what puts it right again. None of that comes off an assessment form. It comes from sitting down with a person and their family and actually asking. Dementia care here runs on constants. Familiar faces, a predictable shape to the day, meals at the times the body expects, and music and food from the right part of a life. We do not hurry and we do not correct. We look for what somebody can still do and build around it rather than keeping a tally of what has been lost. Respite stays give a family carer a break that is genuinely a break, with proper support in place for the person staying. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome. Please come on an ordinary day and see the home as it really is.

Silverbirch Home is a residential care home in Birmingham. We provide a permanent home for older people and for some younger adults, and we also take respite bookings for people who need care for a shorter spell. The people who live here have a range of needs. We support people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. What ties that together is a fairly simple approach: work out what each person needs to have a decent day, then arrange the support around that rather than around a routine that suits the building. Practical help covers washing and dressing, medication, meals, mobility and support overnight. Beyond that, we pay attention to the things that are easy to let slide, such as whether somebody is getting outside, whether they still see the people who matter to them, and whether they have anything to look forward to. Families are part of this. We keep in touch, we tell people when something has changed, and visitors are genuinely welcome rather than merely tolerated. We are a residential care home in Birmingham supporting adults with a wide range of needs. That breadth reflects the people who have come to us over the years rather than any claim to be everything to everyone, and it means we are used to working out what a particular person requires instead of fitting everybody to one pattern. We support older people and younger adults who need help with personal care, mobility and daily life, and we care for people living with dementia, where familiar staff and steady routines matter most. We also support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people living with mental health needs, people living with an eating disorder, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, and we work with people recovering from problems with alcohol or drugs. We are a residential care home in Birmingham supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, alongside older people and people living with dementia. Supporting that mix under one roof is something we plan for rather than something that simply happens. A younger adult with a learning disability who is working towards more independence and an older resident living with dementia want very different things from a week, and support here is built around the individual rather than around a single house routine. What we provide is residential care. Staff are on duty day and night to help with personal care, dressing, medication and meals, while doctors and district nurses come in for clinical needs. For autistic residents and people with a learning disability, the way support is given matters as much as the support itself. Routines that hold, clear information, honest notice before anything changes and genuine choice prevent far more difficulty than any reaction after the event. Where somebody is distressed, we look first at what is being asked of them rather than treating the person as the problem. For residents living with dementia we keep the day familiar, the staff group as steady as we can, and take time to learn about the person's earlier life. Respite stays are available. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and see the place for yourself.

    • Care Home

Manor House is a residential care home in Birmingham. We look after older people who need support with daily living, and we also welcome younger adults whose needs mean that living independently has become difficult. Dementia care is a large part of our work. We keep the house calm and familiar, we give people the time they need instead of hurrying them along, and we make sure staff know each resident's history and habits, because that knowledge shapes everything from how you greet someone in the morning to how you help when they are unsettled. We want the house to feel like a home rather than a place of treatment. Residents keep their own belongings and their own routines, meals are something to enjoy, and visitors are welcome without appointment. There is company for those who want it and a quiet corner for those who do not. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places, whether to give a family carer a planned break or to support someone through a period of recovery. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us outstanding. That reflects the work of the people here day in and day out, and it is a standard we intend to keep. Please come and see us. Look around, talk to residents and relatives, and ask us anything you like.

    • Care Home

Holmpark is a residential care home in Birmingham. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia, along with respite and short stays. We aim to run a household rather than a facility. Residents bring their own furniture and photographs, keep the routines they have always had and decide for themselves how much they want to be part of what is going on. Nobody is marched off to an activity they have not chosen. When somebody moves in we spend real time on their history and preferences, from what time they wake and how they take their tea to the work they did and the people who matter to them. It is written down so that everybody working here knows it, not only whoever carried out the assessment. Birmingham is home to many communities and many languages, and that shapes how we work. Food, faith, festivals and the language somebody is most comfortable in are a large part of whether a person feels at home, particularly for residents living with dementia, who often return to the language they grew up speaking. Dementia support rests on familiarity and pace. We keep staffing as consistent as we can, avoid unnecessary change and work out what settles a particular resident. Families get honest updates from us rather than comfortable ones. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round whenever suits you.

    • Care Home

We are The Friendly Inn, a care home in Birmingham serving families across the Solihull area. We provide residential care for older people, including people living with dementia, and for younger adults, and we offer respite stays for those who need care for a short spell. The name sets the tone we aim for. We want this to feel like somewhere you would happily spend an afternoon rather than somewhere you have been sent. That means a bit of noise in the lounge, visitors welcome at whatever time suits, and staff who sit down and talk properly instead of passing through. People here choose when they get up, what they wear, how they spend their day and whether they want company or their own space. Dementia care takes patience and a steady routine. We keep the day recognisable, we do not spring things on people, and when somebody is upset we look for the reason rather than simply trying to settle them. Families often know exactly what helps, and we would much rather be told than work it out slowly for ourselves. We take the practical side seriously too. Good food that people actually want to eat, medication handled properly, prompt attention when somebody is unwell, and honest conversations with relatives when things change. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. We are glad of that, and we keep asking residents and their families where we are falling short.

Ashleigh Court is a residential care home in Birmingham. We support older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia or a mental health condition, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also take respite bookings. We try to keep the place feeling like a house. People get up when they wake, keep their own things around them, choose how the day runs and are not rushed through the parts that take longer than they used to. Mealtimes are meant to be enjoyed rather than got through, and visitors are welcome throughout the day without arranging it first. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you come across it somewhere else. We know which areas were flagged, work is under way, and we will go through it honestly with any family considering us or already trusting us with a relative. People weighing up a care home deserve straight answers far more than they deserve a polished paragraph. What we will always do is tell you when something has gone wrong, tell you what we are doing about it, and talk to you early when a relative's needs are changing rather than presenting you with a decision already taken. If you are looking at residential or respite care in Birmingham, please come and see us.

Rosemary Lodge is a rest home in Birmingham caring for older people, including those living with dementia. We are a small, domestic sort of place, and most of the people who live here have spent their lives in this part of the city. The day here is not heavily organised. Help with washing, dressing, mobility and medication is given discreetly and when it suits the person, and we ask about the ordinary preferences that often get overlooked in a move, from what time somebody likes to get up to how they take their tea. Those things get written down and followed. For people living with dementia we keep routines steady and staff familiar. We ask families to tell us about the person's working life, their family and what calms them when they are anxious, and we use that every day rather than filing it away. Meals are cooked here and served at a pace that suits people. Relatives are welcome whenever they want to come, and we would far rather be rung with a small worry than have someone sit on it until it grows. Short respite stays are available, whether to give a carer at home a proper break or to help somebody get their confidence back after a spell in hospital. If you are looking at homes in the area, please come and see us on an ordinary day.

Every corner of our home has been thoughtfully arranged to promote comfort, dignity, and a genuine sense of belonging. At Southside, we understand that no two people are alike, which is why our care is shaped around the individual. Our specialisms include residential care, dementia care, mental health support, care for younger adults, and respite care. For families navigating a dementia diagnosis, our team offers patient, person centred support that focuses on preserving identity, routine, and moments of joy. For those living with mental health needs, we provide a stable and understanding environment where residents feel safe to be themselves. Younger adults benefit from care that respects their independence, ambitions, and lifestyle, whilst our respite care option offers short term stays that give family carers the reassurance of a well earned break, knowing their loved one is in capable hands. Day to day life at Southside is guided by kindness, dignity, and a deep respect for each resident's story. We take time to learn what matters to the people who live with us, whether that is a particular hobby, a favourite meal, a cherished routine, or simply a quiet moment with a cup of tea. Families are always welcomed as partners in care, and open communication is something we hold dear. We are pleased to share that our home has been rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission following our most recent inspection in October 2023. This rating reflects the standard of care we work hard to deliver every day, with Good ratings across the Safe, Effective, Caring, and Responsive domains. We recognise that our Well-led domain was rated as Requires Improvement, and we are committed to strengthening our leadership and governance so that every aspect of life at Southside reflects the quality our residents and their families deserve. Transparency and continuous improvement are values we take seriously, and we welcome open conversations about how we are progressing. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring residential care, dementia support, mental health care, or respite options in Birmingham, we warmly invite you to get in touch with the team at Southside. We would be delighted to arrange a visit, answer your questions, and help you discover whether our home could be the right place for your loved one to feel settled, supported, and truly cared for.

The Kenrick Centre in Birmingham is a residential care home supporting older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. We work from the person outwards rather than from a diagnosis in. Each person's support is planned with them and with those who know them best, and it covers whatever is genuinely needed, from full help with personal care and moving safely through to prompting and encouragement while somebody does things for themselves. The plan is reviewed properly, because support that is never revisited slowly stops fitting. Communication gets close attention. We take time to learn how each person makes themselves understood, what settles them and what their behaviour is telling us, and we record it so that the whole team works in the same way. Where sight or hearing has declined, consistent small adjustments make a large difference. People are supported to have a life beyond the building, keeping up interests and activities, getting out into Birmingham and staying in touch with family and friends. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement or a short stay, please contact us and come and see us.

    • Care Home

Tandy Court is a residential care home in Birmingham. We are home to older people who have reached a point where living alone has become difficult, and to people living with dementia who need a calmer and more supported setting than they can manage at home. We are not a nursing home, and we think it is worth being clear about that. What we offer is residential care: help with washing and dressing, medication given on time, meals cooked on the premises, laundry done, and staff who are there through the night as well as the day. For a great many people that is exactly the right level of support, and it leaves them free to get on with the rest of their lives. Dementia asks something particular of a home. It asks for routine, for patience, for surroundings that are easy to read, and for staff who do not correct or argue but go where the person is. We try to hold on to that on the difficult days as well as the easy ones. Being in Birmingham means families can usually get here without a long journey, and we keep visiting arrangements as relaxed as we sensibly can. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We also offer respite stays. If you are weighing up options for someone, come and see us and form your own view of the place.

Older people live here, along with residents living with dementia, adults living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and those with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. We also offer respite stays. A home with that mix of people cannot run on one routine, so we do not try. We work out what a good day looks like for each person and then arrange the help around it. Some people want company and a busy schedule; others want to be left in peace with the door open. Both are legitimate ways to live and neither should need justifying. Practical things make a great deal of difference. Getting around the building easily if you use a wheelchair. Being spoken to clearly and face on if your hearing is poor. Having somewhere quiet to go when the lounge gets loud. We keep working at these because they decide whether a person feels at home or merely accommodated. Respite is available for planned breaks and for shorter stays while someone regains their footing. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Elliott House is a residential care home in Birmingham supporting older people and younger adults, including many people living with dementia. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather put that first than have somebody discover it later. It is not the rating we want and we are not going to explain it away. There is an improvement plan in place, we are working through it with our staff, the people who live here and their families, and anybody considering a move is entitled to ask exactly what is changing, who is accountable for it and what evidence there is that it is taking hold. The life of the home carries on meanwhile and it matters to the people in it. That means support with washing, dressing, medication, meals and mobility given in a way that protects dignity, and for residents living with dementia it means staff who know somebody's history well enough to understand what a particular anxiety is really about. Respite stays are available. We would encourage families to visit, ask hard questions and judge our progress directly.

Tulip Gardens is a residential care home in Birmingham supporting a broad range of adults. Many of our residents are older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability, residents living with sight or hearing loss and some younger adults. That range means assessment matters. Before anybody moves in we want to be sure we can meet their needs properly and that the placement will work for them and for the people already living here, and we say so honestly when we think we are not the right place. Support is planned one person at a time. For one resident that may mean help with most of the day, including personal care and help to move safely. For another it may mean very little practical help but a good deal of structure and staff who understand how they communicate. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent. Where there is a physical disability the right equipment is in place, and for residents with sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and do not move things without saying so. Meals are cooked here and we ask people what they actually want, including the food they have always eaten. Respite stays are available. Please contact us if you would like to visit.

We at Kensington House are proud to offer compassionate residential care in the heart of Birmingham, welcoming residents from across the West Midlands and Worcestershire into a warm and supportive home. As a dedicated residential care home, we provide a safe, homely environment where older people and adults with a range of needs can feel truly at ease. Our setting in the B postcode area places us within easy reach for families visiting from across Birmingham and the wider Worcestershire region. The location offers the reassurance of established local amenities whilst providing a peaceful atmosphere within our walls, where residents can enjoy comfortable communal spaces and quiet corners for relaxation and reflection. The breadth of care we offer reflects our commitment to meeting each resident as an individual. Alongside residential and nursing care for older people, we support those living with dementia, adults managing mental health needs, individuals with physical disabilities, and younger adults whose circumstances call for specialist support. We also welcome respite stays, offering families much needed reassurance during periods when a loved one needs short term care, or when regular carers require a well earned break. In practice, this means our team takes the time to understand the person behind the care plan. For families of someone living with dementia, we focus on familiar routines, gentle encouragement, and creating moments of connection. For residents with physical disabilities or complex health needs, we prioritise dignity, independence, and comfort in every interaction. For younger adults, we recognise that meaningful days are built on choice, purpose, and respect. Whether care is planned for the long term or arranged as a short respite stay, the same warmth and attention to detail apply. Our most recent CQC inspection, carried out in July 2021, awarded Kensington House an overall rating of Good, with Good ratings across all five domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this consistent picture offers meaningful reassurance. It reflects a home where safety is taken seriously, where care is delivered effectively by a capable team, where residents feel genuinely cared for, where the home responds thoughtfully to changing needs, and where leadership sets a clear and steady tone. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring options for a parent, partner, relative, or friend, we warmly invite you to get in touch with Kensington House. We would be delighted to answer your questions, talk through the care your loved one needs, and help you feel confident about the next steps.

    • Care Home

Bartley Green Lodge Residential Care Home is in Birmingham, providing a settled home for older people who need support with daily living. We also care for younger adults, support residents living with dementia, and offer respite stays for those who need care for a shorter period. We aim for an ordinary life with good support behind it. Residents choose when they get up, how they spend their days and what they eat. Meals are cooked on the premises and preferences are remembered, down to how somebody takes their tea. There is company and activity for those who enjoy it and no pressure on anyone who would rather have peace. Dementia support runs through everything we do. We ask families to tell us about a person's life, their work, their music, their habits and their dislikes, because that knowledge is what allows staff to offer comfort that genuinely comforts. Familiar faces, calm surroundings and an unhurried pace do far more good than any rigid approach. We work closely with local GPs and community nurses so that changes in health are picked up early, and we keep families properly informed. Relatives are welcome whenever it suits them. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us good overall. Please come and see the home for yourself and ask us whatever you like.

    • Care Home

Stennards Leisure Retirement Home, known locally as Frankly Beeches, is a residential care home in Birmingham providing a settled home for older people. We support residents living with dementia, residents whose mental health needs shape the care they receive, residents with physical disabilities, and residents living with sight or hearing loss. Much of that work is about small adjustments rather than grand gestures: making sure somebody can find their way about, that the lighting suits them, that we speak in a way they can follow, and that nobody has a conversation about their care without them in it. How the day runs is up to the people who live here. There is usually something going on for those who want it, and there is always somewhere quiet for those who do not. Staff know the household well, including the things that never appear in a file, and that familiarity is what makes care here feel ordinary rather than clinical. Families are welcome and we encourage them to stay closely involved. We also offer respite stays. They suit family carers who need a planned break and people who need a period of support after illness or a stay in hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at homes in Birmingham, please come and visit us, meet the staff, and see what an ordinary day here actually looks like.

    • Care Home

We at Redhill Court Residential Care Home offer a warm and welcoming residential care setting in Birmingham, where compassionate support meets the comforts of everyday life. Nestled within the West Midlands, our home provides a nurturing environment for older adults, younger adults, and those living with dementia who need thoughtful, person centred care. Located within the B postcode area of Birmingham, our home benefits from the familiarity and connection of a well established community. The surrounding area allows residents to feel rooted in the city they know, whilst enjoying the calm and comfort of a dedicated care setting. Families visiting loved ones will find the location accessible and the atmosphere reassuring from the moment they step through our doors. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the people we support. As a residential care home, we provide daily assistance with the tasks that can become more challenging over time, always delivered with dignity and respect. For older people, this means a gentle rhythm of daily life that promotes independence whilst ensuring help is close at hand. For younger adults who require residential support, we take the time to understand individual goals, interests, and aspirations, tailoring our approach so that every person feels seen and valued. Dementia care is a particularly important part of what we do. We understand how difficult it can be for families when a loved one is living with memory loss or cognitive change, and we aim to create a calm, familiar, and structured environment that helps residents feel safe and settled. Our approach focuses on knowing each person as an individual, learning their life story, their preferences, and the small routines that bring comfort and reassurance. We also offer respite care for those who need short term support, whether following a hospital stay, during a family carer's break, or simply to try a period of supported living in a friendly environment. Respite stays are planned with the same care and attention as longer term arrangements, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and at ease throughout their stay. The Care Quality Commission has rated Redhill Court Residential Care Home as Good overall, following its most recent inspection in October 2021. We are proud to have achieved a Good rating across all five key areas assessed by the CQC, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this consistent recognition offers reassurance that the home is meeting the standards expected in every aspect of care delivery, from the safety of our environment to the responsiveness of our team and the overall leadership of the home. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. Our commitment is to provide a place where residents can feel truly at home, where their preferences are respected, their wellbeing is prioritised, and their families feel welcomed as part of our extended community. We warmly invite you to get in touch to learn more about life at Redhill Court, to arrange a visit, or simply to have a conversation about how we might support your loved one. Whatever stage you are at in your search, we are here to help guide you with kindness and understanding.

Maple Leaf Lodge is a residential care home in Birmingham. We care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also offer respite stays for those who need care for a shorter time. Supporting people with such different needs under one roof works only if you plan around each of them. Somebody living with dementia needs calm, familiarity and staff who know their history well enough to steady them. A younger adult may want privacy, independence and support that stays in the background until it is asked for. Both are possible here if the planning is done carefully and revisited when things change. For people with sight or hearing loss the practical details decide whether somebody stays independent, so lighting, familiar layouts, unhurried conversation and equipment that works are ordinary practice rather than extras. Where somebody needs support to make a decision we give it in whatever form suits them, and we take the time rather than deciding on their behalf. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit, meet the staff and ask us the difficult questions.

    • Care Home

Here at The Beeches Residential Care Home, we are proud to be part of the Birmingham community, offering a warm and welcoming environment where residents feel genuinely at home. We provide residential care for older people, those living with dementia, and younger adults, as well as respite care for those who need short term support. Whatever brings someone to us, our aim is always the same: to make sure each person feels seen, respected and well looked after. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that trust lightly. From the moment someone walks through our doors, we make it a priority to get to know them as an individual, learning about their routines, their preferences and the things that matter most to them. Care here is built around the person, not the other way around. Our team works hard to create an atmosphere that feels homely and settled rather than clinical or institutional. We believe that good care comes from genuinely knowing the people you are looking after, and that takes time, consistency and real human connection. Staff continuity matters to us, and we work to ensure that residents build familiar, trusting relationships with the people who support them day to day. For those living with dementia, we offer a thoughtful approach that focuses on comfort, familiarity and dignity. We recognise how important it is for residents and their families to feel supported throughout what can be a challenging journey, and we are always available to talk things through. Our most recent Care Quality Commission rating is Good, and we continue to reflect on how we can build on that. We welcome anyone who would like to visit us and see our home for themselves.

    • Care Home

Hopwood Court is a residential care home on the Birmingham side of Worcestershire. We support older people, including residents living with dementia and those with a physical disability, and we offer respite care for planned short stays. Moving into a care home is a considerable thing to ask of anyone, so we try to make the practical side of it calm. Before somebody arrives we spend time with them and with the people who know them best, because it is the small details that decide how quickly a person settles. How they take their tea. Whether they are early risers. What they did for a living. Who they want to hear from. All of that shapes how we support them from the first day. After that, the day belongs to the resident. People choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Meals are proper meals and we take note of what people actually enjoy rather than what is simplest to cook. Dementia support runs through the whole home. We keep surroundings familiar, avoid rushing anyone, and take time to understand what settles a particular resident instead of applying one approach to everybody. Where someone has a physical disability we think carefully about how the home works for them rather than expecting them to work around it. Respite stays are planned with the same care as a permanent move. Visitors are welcome, and we would rather families felt at home here. Please contact us if you would like to look round.

    • Care Home

The Leys Residential Home cares for older people in Birmingham, providing residential care for those who can no longer manage safely on their own. We support people living with dementia, people with mental health needs and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Respite matters more than people expect. A planned fortnight with us can be what allows a husband, wife or daughter to keep going as a carer for another year, and for the person staying it can be a welcome change of company and routine. Our approach is not complicated. We find out how somebody has always lived, what they can still do for themselves, what they are anxious about and what they would like from a day, and we build their support around that. Personal care is given without fuss and with privacy. Medication and health appointments are looked after properly. Beyond that, we try to make sure people have decent food, real company, something to look forward to and somewhere comfortable to be. Relatives are welcome at any reasonable hour and we keep them informed rather than waiting to be chased. If a person becomes unwell or unsettled, the family hears from us promptly. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking at homes in this part of Birmingham, please come and see us, meet the staff and ask whatever you need to ask.

We are The Lawns Residential Care, a care home in Birmingham. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also take respite bookings for shorter stays. We want this to feel like a home rather than an institution. People bring their own furniture and pictures, keep their own routines and decide how much they want to join in with whatever is going on. Some days that means company in the lounge and some days it means a quiet room and the radio, and both are perfectly sensible ways to spend an afternoon. For people living with dementia we work with the person in front of us. Knowing somebody's history, recognising what tends to unsettle them and having the patience to go at their pace prevents a great deal of distress before it starts. We also try hard to support what people can still do for themselves. Losing that is often what worries people most about moving into a home, and it is not inevitable. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour and we would always rather hear a concern early. What the Published Ratings Show

63 residential care homes registered for dementia support appear in this collection. Two hold an Outstanding judgement, forty six are rated Good, eleven are rated Requires Improvement and one has not yet been inspected for a rating, which usually indicates a recent registration rather than any known problem. The rating is a starting point rather than a verdict. Each inspection report sets out separate findings on safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and leadership, and for dementia the responsiveness and caring sections often carry the most useful detail about daily life in the home.

What to Look For in Dementia Support

Good dementia care shows itself in small things. Look for signage and layout that help someone find their own room and the bathroom without asking, for secure outdoor space that can be used freely, and for lounges quiet enough that a conversation is possible. Ask what training staff receive, how often agency workers are used and whether the same faces appear on the same shifts, because familiarity matters enormously when memory does not. Ask how the home responds to distress or restlessness in the evening, and what it does instead of reaching for medication.

Involving the Person and the Family

A home should want to know who the person was before their diagnosis, and should be able to explain how that history shapes a care plan. Ask whether relatives can visit without notice, how changes in condition are communicated and what happens if needs progress beyond what the home is registered to provide.

Choosing between dementia care homes in Birmingham

Requesting a Care Needs Assessment

The starting point for most families is a care needs assessment, which records what help a person requires and whether those needs meet the national eligibility threshold. Anyone can ask for one, and it is free regardless of savings or income. Birmingham City Council is responsible for carrying out that assessment and for arranging a financial assessment where funded support might follow. A carer supporting someone at home can request an assessment of their own needs alongside it.

How Fees and Funded Support Work

Dementia care is generally charged as a weekly fee covering the room, meals and personal care, with the level often reflecting how much supervision a person needs. Where capital falls below the relevant threshold and eligible needs are identified, the council may contribute towards the placement, and continuing healthcare funding is assessed separately by the health service where needs are primarily clinical. Families paying privately should ask for written confirmation of the fee, what sits outside it and how much notice is given of an increase.

Moving From Shortlist to Decision

Draw up a short list from the entries below, visit more than once and at different times of day, and read the inspection report in full before committing. Taking someone who knows the person well on a second visit often surfaces questions a first look misses. The profiles here bring registration details and published judgements together so that comparison rests on evidence rather than on marketing material.

Frequently asked questions about dementia care homes in Birmingham

How many dementia care homes are there in Birmingham?

Birmingham has 63 CQC registered care homes that are registered for dementia care, out of 225 CQC registered care homes in Birmingham: 2 Outstanding, 48 Good, 12 Requires improvement, 1 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.

Which dementia care homes in Birmingham were inspected most recently?

Platinum Care Services (16 September 2026), Marian House (26 June 2026) and Washwood Healthcare Service (25 June 2026) have the most recent CQC reports.

Which providers offer dementia care in Birmingham?

63 providers appear on this page, each registered with the Care Quality Commission as a residential care home offering dementia support. Two are rated Outstanding, forty six are rated Good, eleven are rated Requires Improvement and one is awaiting a first rating. Availability changes week by week, so it is worth approaching more than one at a time. Every profile below sets out the registration details and links through to the published inspection report.

What is the difference between a dementia care home and a dementia nursing home?

A residential care home provides accommodation, meals and personal care, including help with washing, dressing, medication and daily routine, delivered by care staff. A nursing home offers all of that alongside qualified nurses on site at all hours. Every provider listed here is registered as a residential care home rather than a nursing home. Where dementia is accompanied by a clinical need such as wound care, a feeding tube or unstable physical health, a nursing registration is usually the right fit.

What should families ask when visiting a dementia care home in Birmingham?

Ask about staff training in dementia, how consistent the staffing is and whether agency cover is used regularly. Find out how the home occupies people during the day, how it handles distress or walking about at night, and what its approach to medication is. Ask to see a sample care plan and to hear how the home learns about someone's life before their diagnosis. It is also fair to ask what would happen if needs increased and whether the home could continue to meet them.

How is a care needs assessment arranged in Birmingham?

Contact Birmingham City Council and ask for a care needs assessment, which is the statutory route into arranged or funded support. The assessment is free and open to anyone who appears to need help, whatever their financial position. A social care practitioner will look at daily living, safety, mobility and the support already being given by family. The written outcome is useful to keep, because a home will ask for the same information before offering a place.

Can Birmingham City Council fund a dementia care home placement?

It can, where the care needs assessment identifies eligible needs and a financial assessment shows that capital sits below the relevant threshold. The council then contributes towards the weekly fee, with the person paying an assessed contribution from income. Where needs arise mainly from health rather than social care, continuing healthcare funding may be assessed by the health service instead. Because both assessments take time, it is sensible to begin the process well before a move becomes urgent.

How early should the search for dementia care begin?

Starting several months ahead is ideal, since it allows time to visit homes properly rather than deciding under pressure after a hospital admission or a crisis at home. Waiting lists for well regarded homes can run to weeks or longer, particularly for rooms suited to higher levels of need. If council funding may be involved, allow additional time for the assessments that precede it. Even an early look at the profiles below makes a later decision considerably calmer.
