About Little Brocklesby House
Little Brocklesby House is a residential care home in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, autistic adults and people with a learning disability, adults managing mental ill health and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. We keep this a homely place. People bring their own belongings, choose how they spend their days and eat food worth sitting down to. There is usually something going on for those who want it, and nobody is obliged to take part. What we do try to avoid is anyone spending the day in a chair with nothing happening around them. Supporting people with such different needs under one roof only works if we plan for individuals rather than groups. We learn what steadies a person and what unsettles them, we keep staff and routines as consistent as we can, and we communicate in whatever way reaches each person. Where somebody's health or mood shifts, we involve their GP and the local community teams early rather than waiting. Families are welcome in Grimsby whenever suits them and are part of how decisions get made. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you would like to look round and meet the team, please ring and we will arrange it.
