About Manor Gate Care Home
Manor Gate is a residential care home in Boston, Lincolnshire. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for families needing a planned break. Residents decide the shape of their own day. We fit our work around that rather than the other way round, which takes more organising and is plainly the right order. Food is something we think about more than most people would expect. Appetite often goes first when somebody is unwell or unsettled, and a meal that arrives cold, or at a time nobody is hungry, or that needs cutting up by somebody who has not arrived yet, quietly becomes a meal not eaten. For residents living with dementia we protect routine and keep surroundings familiar, and we ask families for the history that lets us understand what somebody means rather than only what they said. People keep control of their own money and belongings as far as they are able, and where they need help with that we are transparent about it. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. Relatives are welcome whenever they want to come.
