About Fieldview
Fieldview is a care home in Gloucester. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability, people managing a mental health condition and people living with an eating disorder. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Supporting that range of people under one roof works only if nobody is treated as a category. What a younger autistic adult wants from a week bears almost no relation to what an older person living with dementia needs from it, and planning that lumps them together fails both. So we sit down with each person, work out what their week should actually contain, and arrange staffing around that rather than the reverse. Food gets particular attention, and not only for the people whose needs make that obvious. Appetite is one of the first things to change when somebody is unwell, in pain or unhappy, so poor eating is something we investigate rather than simply record. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering a placement in Gloucester, please come and visit and talk to the people living here as well as to us.
