About Scott House
Scott House is a residential care home in South Croydon providing a home for older people and for younger adults who need support with everyday life, including people living with mental health conditions. We are not a large institution and we do not try to run like one. People keep their own routines as far as they can, which means breakfast when you wake rather than when a trolley arrives, and a day shaped around what a person actually enjoys. The care covers washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, mobility and the many small things that become difficult alone. For people managing mental health conditions we have found that a calm and predictable household does more good than any particular intervention, and we build the week around that. Our staff tend to stay with us, which means people here are looked after by faces they recognise, and that continuity counts for a great deal when mood is unpredictable. Families are part of the household rather than visitors to be managed. Come when it suits you, and tell us if you think we have got something wrong. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
