About Wood Cottage
Here at Wood Cottage, we offer residential care for people who need a little extra support in their everyday lives. Based in Crewe, Cheshire East, our home is a place where residents feel genuinely at ease, known as individuals, and supported in the ways that matter most to them. We have developed particular experience in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, as well as those living with visual or hearing impairments. We also welcome younger adults and provide respite care for those who need a short stay, whether that is to give a family carer some breathing space or to help someone through a period of change. Each person who comes through our door brings their own story, preferences and needs, and we take the time to get to know them properly before we make any assumptions about how best to help. Life at Wood Cottage is meant to feel like home, not a service. We work hard to create an environment that is calm, familiar and welcoming, where routines can be maintained if that brings comfort, but where there is also room for spontaneity and fun. Meals, activities, outings and quiet time all play their part, and we try to follow the lead of the people we support rather than fitting them around our own timetable. We involve families and loved ones as much as people want us to, and we see those relationships as an important part of good care. Communication is something we take seriously, whether that means adapting how we share information or simply making sure people always know what is happening and why. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and are committed to being open and honest about how we are doing. If you would like to find out more, we would love to hear from you.
