About Danebank
Danebank is a residential care home in Crewe. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment, including younger adults, and we offer respite stays. We should be open about where we stand. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We have not dressed that up. The work since has focused on the things that affect the people living here directly, which are safe medication practice, consistent staffing so that people are supported by workers who know them well, and making sure that a concern raised by a resident, a relative or an advocate reaches a manager and is answered. What we are aiming for has not changed. Everyone here has a support plan written with them, in a form they can use, covering how they want to be supported and what they want their week to contain. Where somebody does not use speech, we learn how they do communicate and make sure the whole team knows. Where someone becomes distressed we look for the cause rather than the quickest way to stop it, and any restriction on freedom is agreed properly and reviewed. Families, advocates and commissioners are welcome to visit, ask us about the inspection and see how the house runs now.
