About Conifer Lodge
Conifer Lodge is a care home in Hove providing residential care for older people and for adults living with mental ill health. We support younger adults as well, and we offer respite stays. We aim to run a household rather than a facility, and that means resisting the routines that suit a building rather than the people in it. Getting up when you want, eating when you are hungry, having somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet to escape to. These are not refinements; they are most of what makes a place feel like home. Where mental ill health is part of somebody's life, steadiness does more good than cleverness. Familiar staff, plans made with the person during settled periods, and support through harder spells without anyone treating a bad stretch as a failure. That calls for a team that stays, which is why keeping good staff is what we work hardest at. Hove is a decent place to grow older in and we make sure residents are part of it. Getting out, seeing people and keeping up interests are treated as part of the support rather than as extras for when there is spare time. Respite stays suit carers who need a break and people regaining their strength. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. Please come and see us on an ordinary day.
