About 19 Leicester Villas
19 Leicester Villas is a care home in Hove providing residential care for adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, including younger adults, along with respite stays. We are a house in an ordinary street, and being part of the neighbourhood matters to us. The people living here are neighbours as well as residents, and the everyday business of being known locally, saying hello, going to the same shops, being recognised, does more for somebody's sense of themselves than any programme of activities we could devise. Inside, the house is run as a home. People choose how their rooms look, take part in the shopping and cooking, and decide what to do with their days. Support arrives for the parts of life that are genuinely difficult and stays out of the way of the parts that are not, which takes more attention than simply doing everything for people. Brighton and Hove is a good place to have a life in, and keeping work, courses, friendships and family ties going is treated as part of the support rather than an extra. For autistic adults, consistency is the foundation, so we protect the stability of the staff team and give notice of changes. Respite stays are prepared with visits beforehand. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. Please come and see the house on an ordinary day.
