About 3 The Droveway
Our home on The Droveway in Hove provides residential care for adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults building towards greater independence. We keep the house small and domestic on purpose. It is a home on an ordinary street and the people who live here are part of the neighbourhood rather than residents of an institution. Everybody has their own room and their own belongings, and the day is built around each person rather than a timetable. Support is agreed with each person and with those who know them best. For some it means help with every part of personal care, and for others it is prompting, encouragement and staff nearby while they manage things themselves. We take communication seriously, learning how each person makes themselves understood and what a change in behaviour is telling us, and we record it so that the whole team responds in the same way. People are supported to get out into Hove, to keep up activities and interests, to attend appointments and to see family and friends. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for somebody, please contact us and come and see the house.
