About Charles Lodge
Charles Lodge is a care home in Hove. We provide residential care for older people, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. We aim to be a home in the plain sense of the word. People get up when they want, spend the day as they choose, keep their own things around them and have visitors when it suits rather than when a timetable allows. Staff are here to make that workable and to notice when somebody is not quite themselves. Dementia support is a large part of what we do, and most of it is not complicated. Familiar faces, a day with a recognisable shape, and a team who understand what a person is really asking when they ask the same question for the fifth time. Being near the sea helps. Fresh air and a change of scene lift people in a way that organised activity often does not, and we get outside whenever the weather is reasonable. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see us if you are considering care locally, and talk to the people who live here as well as to us.
