About Place Farm House
We are Place Farm House, a residential care home in Brighton. We look after older people who are finding it difficult to manage at home on their own, and we take respite bookings for shorter stays. We have kept our focus clear rather than trying to be all things to everyone. Residential care for older people is what we do. Doing it properly means knowing each person well: their history, the work they did, the family names, what comforts them and what reliably unsettles them. Staff who carry that knowledge are the ones who notice quickly when somebody is unwell or out of sorts. Beyond that, much of what makes a day here good is quite unremarkable. A decent breakfast at a time that suits you. Your own chair and your own belongings. Company if you want it and quiet if you would rather. Somebody with the time to sit down and properly listen. We also support people to keep hold of what they can still manage themselves, and to keep up the connections they already have in Brighton, whether that is family nearby, a church, a club or simply the shops. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Relatives are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us and come and see the home at a normal busy time of day.
