About 20 Windlesham Road
Our home on Windlesham Road in Brighton provides residential care for adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults building towards greater independence. We keep the house small and domestic on purpose. People live here rather than being placed here, and that shows in how the day runs. Everybody has their own room and their own belongings, and the shape of the week belongs to the people who live in it. Support is agreed with each person and with those who know them best. For some it means help with every part of personal care, and for others it is prompting, encouragement and staff nearby while they manage things themselves. We take communication seriously, learning how each person makes themselves understood and what their behaviour is telling us, and we write it down so that everybody responds in the same way. People are supported to get out into Brighton, to keep up activities and interests, to attend appointments and to see family and friends. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for somebody, please contact us. We will assess carefully and tell you honestly if we are not the right service.
