About Lawford Lodge
Lawford Lodge is a residential care home in Poole supporting younger adults, including people who have a learning disability, autistic people, people with a physical disability and people whose sight or hearing is impaired. Everyone here has their own plan and their own say in it. Support might be personal care and help with daily routines, it might be practical assistance with cooking, money and appointments, or it might be somebody alongside a person at college, at work or out in Poole. Most often it is a mixture, and it shifts as people gain confidence or as circumstances change. Physical disability support is a large part of what we do and we take the time it needs. Moving and transfers are done unhurriedly and explained as they happen, and equipment is used properly, because getting this right is what makes the difference between feeling supported and feeling handled. For autistic people we support, we give notice before things change, keep sensory demands in mind when organising shared spaces and learn how each person prefers to be communicated with. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are welcome to visit. Please contact us.
