About Richmondwood Rest Home
Richmondwood Rest Home is a residential care home in Bournemouth. We support older people who need help with daily life, including residents living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also support younger adults and people recovering from an eating disorder, and we offer respite stays. Supporting a group of people this varied works because we plan with each one individually. Somebody rebuilding after a difficult period needs something quite different from an older resident who can no longer manage alone, and both should be able to live here on their own terms. The basics apply to everybody. People choose when to get up, what to eat and how much company they want. Privacy is respected, personal care is given quietly and at the person's own pace, and rooms hold their own belongings. Where somebody has mental health needs, we agree in advance what helps when things become difficult. Where a person is in recovery from an eating disorder, mealtimes are handled calmly and according to the plan agreed with them and the professionals involved. Health needs are managed alongside local GPs and community teams, and families hear from us early. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and look round.
