About The Lawns
The Lawns is a nursing home in Gloucester, and we care for adults whose needs go beyond what residential care can meet. Qualified nurses are on duty around the clock, working alongside carers who know the people here well, so that clinical care and everyday support are not two separate things. We look after older people and younger adults, including those living with complex physical disabilities, sensory loss, and people with a learning disability or who are autistic. That range means we plan carefully for each person. Some need nursing support that must be delivered exactly and on time; others mainly need help to be comfortable, to eat well and to keep in touch with the people who matter to them. Both deserve the same attention. Meals are cooked here and we take dietary and swallowing needs seriously without letting food become purely clinical. Our staff work closely with community nurses, therapists and GPs, and we are frank with families about how someone is doing rather than waiting for a crisis to make the call. We can take people for short stays, which often helps when a carer at home needs a rest or when someone needs nursing support for a period after illness. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering nursing care for a relative, please ring and arrange to come and see the place for yourself.
