About Foundation House
Foundation House is a nursing home in Gloucester. We support younger adults and others with complex needs, including people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment, with qualified nursing care available throughout. Having nursing on site changes what is possible. It means somebody with significant health needs does not have to be moved elsewhere when things change, and it means health needs do not end up dictating the whole shape of a person's life. That is the point, really. The people we support are living their lives here, not waiting out their conditions, so we start from what somebody wants their week to look like and then work out how to make it possible, including the clinical parts. We also offer respite stays, which can give families a genuine break and give the person staying a change of scene with support they can rely on. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was outstanding. We are proud of it and wary of it in equal measure, because such a rating is only worth anything if it still describes the place a year later. So we keep checking our own work and listening to the people here and their families. If you are looking at options for someone in your family, please get in touch and come and see us.
